Can you guess where you'd find this spectacular Guildhall? Hint: it's in this island's only completely walled city!

This breathtaking view captured by the talented @ihaveadarksoul is taken from the summit of Carrauntoohil — the highest peak of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks mountain range in county Kerry. Guided tours of this range can be provided by highly experienced climbers, promising to fill your expedition with interesting facts, information and tales of intrepid explorers. A major feature of the Wild Atlantic Way, County Kerry is home to some of Ireland's most unspoiled areas and is undoubtedly a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. Carrauntoohil can be conquered via the Devil's Ladder Route, and takes between 4-6 hours to complete. Although, when the scenery is as pure as this, it seems entirely worth it.

The art of subtlety is perfected in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. Here, you will find Ireland’s highest waterfall cascading passed an array of pine, beach and oak trees just like the delicate veil of a newlywed bride. Powerscourt Waterfall is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, with ample opportunities for picnics, scenic walks and a nearby playground for little adventurers. Powerscourt Estate itself is just 6km from this natural wonder. Here, you can spend your afternoon chatting over freshly baked goods in the family run Avoca café or discover 800 years of colourful history at Powerscourt House. One could be forgiven for never wanting to leave this magnificent oasis of tranquility deep in the heart of Ireland’s Ancient East. 🎥@frankcosgrove .

@conor.mc.eneaney An old schoolhouse along the Gleniff Horseshoe drive in County Sligo, in the shadows of Benbulben. If you look high to the right of the building you'll see the ominous dark opening of a cave which was the home of the ill-fated lovers, Diarmad and Grainne.

All aboard! Pictured below the ginormous sandstone edges of the Skellig Islands, a group of tourists wait to embark on the 12 kilometre journey back to the calmness the County Kerry mainland. These dramatic islands piercing the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, are famous for their ecological beauty and fascinating history. Over one thousand years ago, a monastery was erected at the summit of the larger of two islands, Skellig Michael, and remains to this day one of the most impressive testaments to human strength, determination and faith. The ancient hand carved stairway still caresses the edge of the rugged island, providing breathtaking views of the ocean for those brave enough for the climb. In modern times, the Skellig islands have become a magnet for tourists and nature enthusiasts alike. The islands have even impressed in Hollywood, attracting major box office film productions such as the Star Wars franchise to shoot on location here. 📸 @daraghj.burns79 #loveireland #ireland #irlande #irlanda #irland #discoverireland #kerry #countykerry #skelligs #skelligislands #skelligmichael #boattrip #tripidea #starwars #film #nature #monks #monastery #history #cliff #stairway #island

It’s no secret that Ireland is well known for its majestic castles and awesome coastline. Can you guess in which county this ancient ruin sits clutching the cliff’s edge? Hint: you may recognise it as the home of the ironborn Greyjoys in HBO’s hit television series Game of Thrones… 📸 @eyeintheskyireland #loveireland #discovernorthernireland #ireland #irlande #irlanda #irland #gameofthrones #got #castle #coastline #cliffs #views #scenes #sea #ruins #greyjoy #pyke #ironborn #travel #photography

We never get tired of the intricate beauty of Cobh, County Cork, on Ireland’s Ancient East. This colourful seaside town was once a major harbour for Irish emigration to America, and is famously known as the last port of call for the doomed Titanic in 1912. Between 1848 and 1950, it is said that around 2.5 million people boarded vessels from this harbour, journeying to foreign shores in hope of a better life. Today, the town showcases the fascinating Titanic Experience Cobh, where you can discover what life was like on board one of the most tragic cruise liners of all time – the entrance is in the original White Star Ticket Office in the town. Stationed on Great Island off the south-east corner of Ireland, Cobh has become a hub of activity known for its deliciously fresh seafood, heritage and the wonderful Fota Wildlife Park.

The Dingle Peninsula, County Kerry, is a small part of the world with a big reputation for life, character and breath-taking views – just like this. The town of the same name is tucked away in the south-west corner of the island of Ireland along the Wild Atlantic Way. Every December, the brightest and best musicians visit for Other Voices, a festival set against the tranquil backdrop of St James’ Church. If you prefer to get out and absorb the salty air, the magnificent rugged peninsula stretches for 30 miles out into the Atlantic Ocean and is a walker’s playground. Below the cliffs and patrolling the Kerry coast is Fungie, the resident Bottlenose dolphin. He’s become somewhat of a local celebrity, entertaining boat passengers for the last 32 years. On land or on the sea, Dingle and the Dingle Peninsula is a true tonic for the soul and for the senses. 📸 @frankcosgrove

What a week it’s been! I’m @tomarcherphoto, back for my final post. It’s been a pleasure sharing my shots of Ireland with you! I’m leaving you with this picture of the place known as Murder Hole Beach on Melmore Head in Donegal. It’s an incredibly beautiful beach with a dark history – no one is sure where it got the name, but there are more than a few sordid stories around! We had the beach all to ourselves for this shot – can you feel the tranquillity?

Hey – it’s @tomarcherphoto, back again. This site was somewhere totally original and intriguing for me – it’s called An Grianán Aileach, a hilltop fort found in County Donegal. It’s thought to date back to the 6th century, where it would have been used as a defensive point atop the 244 metre high Greenan Mountain.

Along the beautiful and rugged coastline of County Sligo, Classiebawn Castle sits facing the wild Atlantic, framed by the huge table mountain, Ben Bulben. It’s a private residence, but the views back to it are truly incredible! @tomarcherphoto

Afternoon everyone! I’m @tomarcherphoto, and I’m back sharing my highlights of my trip to Ireland! Ireland is full of magical, sparkling waterfalls, like Fowley Falls in County Leitrim. We spent a few hours here, exploring and taking shots. It was raining, but underneath the leafy canopy, we were kept totally dry.

Hey everyone! I’m @tomarcherphoto, and I’ll be taking over the @tourismireland account for the next few days to share the highlights of my recent trip across Ireland! This shot was taken at the stunning Cloughoughter Castle in County Cavan – built in the 13th century, it has long since been abandoned, but it’s still a beautiful spot for getting in touch with nature, and kayaking around the lake for a closer view. #cavan #cloughoughter #castles #lakes #ireland #loveireland #irlanda #irland #irlande

Mist pours over the lip of the Comeragh Mountains, creating an atmosphere that's beautiful, moody and somehow mournful. These peaks were formed when glaciers carved out swathes of land during the last Ice Age – they stretch from the roaring coast of County Waterford towards the inland town of Clonmel in County Tipperary, wreathed in heather and hiding glacial lakes and intriguing marshes up in the sky. Thanks to @annchristineoo for making the hike to capture this stunning pic!

A winding pier makes its way down towards the Atlantic Ocean, captured here in a moment of pure serenity by @patrickodonnellphotography. Dunquin Pier is the gateway to the Blasket Islands, rich in history and a long-lasting literary legacy. Uninhabited since 1953, these lonely outcrops in the middle of the sea are the last land before North America.

As the sun sets over Dublin, a glowing sky above the banks of the River Liffey makes us think of the warm fires we have to look forward to in winter, as sunsets come sooner and the nights begin to get a little more chilly. Clearly we’re not the only ones to appreciate Mother Nature’s show – @allexphotography caught this shot of pedestrians across O’Connell bridge stopping to admire the view 💛 #loveireland #discoverireland #irland #irlanda #irlande #river #liffey #dublin #dublino #sunset #city

Check it out – do the rocks here remind anyone else of a huge witch’s hat? These stunning rock formations can be found just below the ruins of Dunluce Castle, which is rumoured to play host to a banshee, a wailing spirit that predicts death! Not to mention the horror story of how the castle’s kitchens plummeted from the cliffs and into the turbulent seas one stormy night – now that’s spooky! Thanks to @ellermaaannn for this stunning shot!

"Tis pleasant, safely to behold from the shore, the troubled sailor, and hear the tempests roar”. You’ll find this inscription carved into the stone walls of Mussenden Temple, captured here in celestial glory by @dantyartphotography. This 18th century clings to the edge of the cliff, and was originally built as a library for the local Earl as a place for retreat and solitude, providing a front row seat to the dramatics of Mother Nature!
