Happy birthday to the matriarch of the Lowery family. I don’t have the words with me right now to express my love and admiration for Margaret Lowery. I’m not sure I ever will. She’s my #1, best friend, first teacher, adventure partner, no-question-is-a-bad-question answerer, and all around rock of my life. One day I’ll figure out how to tell you all how incredible this woman is, but for now let us just celebrate her. Happy 83rd Birthday, Nan.

Just randomly thinking about how these humans have been some of my best friends for 10+ years. 😭 And to think it’s all thanks to road trips, circus, and most of all @americanyouthcircus festivals. 🎪 Woof. This life is weird, and at times heavy, but all the chaos is worth it thanks to these pieces of joy. ✨💫💞

Bless this season. Bless this sinus crap/cold. Bless these humbling reminders of this human body. I am not super woman. I need rest. I need coffee. And that’s okay. Bless this body of mine, for it moves, it can walk, it can breathe, it can carry me through this humbling season. May all beings be peaceful. May all beings be safe. May all beings find joy and warmth this blessed season. Happy Holidays, y’all.

I like to tell myself that I have diverse color choices in my life. Some would beg to differ. I truly believe there are vast differences between these reds. Come at me.

I’m human. I get caught up in the “should”s and the “what if”s. I whine about the “why me”s and “why not me”s, but the more I celebrate the mundane parts of my day, the more I realize that life is not about what I’m doing. It’s about who I’m becoming.

I’m known for dry-erase doodling on our bathroom mirrors. Just gotta remind myself what I’m doing here in this world, ya know?
Ask: “what can I GIVE?”
NOT “what can I GET?”

How family sessions actually go. Lean into what life gives you and you might actually find that you enjoy it more than what you were expecting. #wisdomphotographyhastaughtme

I’ve always enjoyed a well manicured hand, but now that I’m a full time photographer I’ve noticed that I pay way more attention to these little digits. I guess that’s because my face is usually behind the camera and now my fingers have to be the presentable dudes.

Happy 4th birthday to the furry babies that have quite literally changed my life. If you don’t have an animal right now and you have the means to support one, go to your local shelter right this moment and adopt your soon-to-be best friend. Animals are these beautiful, furry, empathy machines that make the absolute BEST life companions. I can’t say it enough. Rescue/Adopt your new best friend. My heart is bursting with love, joy and gratitude because of these beings.

Sometimes when I’m deep in the feels I look at old photos of good times. Memories have a powerful way of reminding us that every moment is fleeting. I’m a nostalgic young lass who has feared change ever since I can remember. It’s inevitable, I know, but I still like to fight my way through it nonetheless. Nan may not be the same these days, but I love and deeply cherish the fleeting moments I get to spend with her (even if it’s just reading my emails to her as if they were a bed time story 😂) because I know that things are changing every moment. And I remind myself that any time spent with her is a gift.

When it finally feels* like fall in so cal. (*note it does not actually feel like fall, but it sort of looks like it, and we’re good with that for now).
