Advice please!
We are wanting to upgrade to a king bed. Really been struggling to find a bed frame that my husband and I love. Considering just getting an ensemble, but not sure if that's too boring ๐Ÿ˜… Who has one and are you happy with it?
  • Get an ensemble ofcourse & make your own bed head on the wall. Padded fabric/gate/timber...anything you โค๏ธ

  • Just an ensemble because I couldn't commit to a bed head and very happy! Later down the track if we find a bed head we love we can get it. But so far I love just the ensemble!

  • I love a non bed head bed. It means you aren't locked in lol! I hate restrictions ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • Ditto to what @belletallon just wrote. I was going to suggest padded. Just some pegboard cut to size, foam from Clark rubber and some upholstery fabric stretches around and stapled to the back of the board. Being peg board, it has holes that you can secure self covered buttons through if you wish to have the headboard studded

  • King bed ensemble and use 3 European pillows as the bed head along with lots of pillows/cushions.

  • @justy_olive I totally agree!

  • We have a king ensemble and it's the bomb!

  • King beds forever. And of course king pillows too ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • That wall ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป sorry no help I'm sure lol x

  • We went for the king Koil ensemble. Love how "open" an ensemble makes to room feel.

  • Jardan for sustainability, also @mexsiibedheads an option

  • I love the @incyinteriors four poster we just bought in king ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ

  • I do!

  • Hubby and I just have an ensemble base from IKEA. It's sturdy and does the trick. You can change the coloured cover in it whenever you want, and can put whatever headboard behind it. Brilliant. Also, koala mattress ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

  • We need a king bed too. So I'm following this closely!

  • We have a king @retrojan bed and we love it! It's a full house most nights ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

  • We got our bed from Curious Grace and are so in love. It was so hard to choose as they have so many beauties! Also, Koala mattresses are incredible! We could never go back to any other!

  • We bought our King at Snooze. They have system where you mix and match your bed head and frame so you can create something perfect for you. We love how it turned out

  • We have a king ensemble of Ikea and we still use the old 'back' of our old bed, just between the bed and the wall. Still need a nice headboard, but didn't find the time and mood to search for one. But love the bed itself!

  • @meettheshepherds just checked them out, ooh they have some nice beds. Which one did you get? Thanks for sharing... out of all the beds on the market, that's the kind of style I was eying off.

  • @alexandraguy12 I've heard a few people recommend the Koala mattress. Definitely need to check out! Thanks x

  • @bianca.serratore I do love a good four poster bed! Just wasn't sure if our room was too small for one. I thought when we finally build our house and have a big bedroom I'll get one!

  • @thepillowslipstore ooh I've never owned a king pillow. Must look into this ๐Ÿ‘‘

  • @sarahplustwoandjax good to know! Pascal joins our bed every night in the early hours of the morning. I'm in no rush to stop him from doing so (I love spooning him ๐Ÿ˜„). Just need more room!

  • @lananhannan love our curved corners โ˜บ๏ธ

  • @kateoliver koala mattresses are ahhhhmazing!

  • We made our bed out of wood 2x2. A really basic frame and then we used a gorgeous piece of wood from a table top that we got in an auction and took the legs off and mounted on the wall. The wood grain is beautiful. It would be easy depending on your level of diy skills to clad the bed frame in wood too.

  • We originally had a king ensemble, but then ditched the base when we found the right bed frame. Definitely prefer having a bed frame ... makes the our space feel more open xx

  • Icon by design and we love it!

  • Hey @kateoliver im nicola I'm crystals and hollys cousin and I got a king ensemble a year ago I got a nice dark grey material bottom and I also added a nice bedhead coloured in almost the same coloured material there were heaps to choose from looks really nice too ๐Ÿ˜Š the ensemble itself I think is awesome the bases aren't hard to move they are lightweight if that helps ๐Ÿ˜„

  • mdebsy 6M ago

Sunil and I have one and I wish we had stayed with a queen. We bought a Sealy Posturepedic with some extra padding on top and within a short time the shape of our bodies appeared either side of the bed with a pronounced hump in the middle. We also sleep far apart, no more close cuddling because of the hump. It's like two separate beds pushed together.

  • Love it!

  • We have a king from Snooze, dark stained timber on the bedhead that curves back towards the wall. We spent a little more than we were planning, it was one of those pick and choose the style beds, but we are happy with it

  • Just wait, something is sure to be around the corner. Has hubby thought of making one himself? You could carve a traditional marriage knot into the head?

  • We have an ensemble and you can make it pretty with big euro pillows... but... I am currently looking for a bed head to add ๐Ÿ˜‚

  • I'm going to go against the crowd, I actually don't like ensembles, changing the valances is annoying and you loose that storage space if you don't have a lot of cupboards but I also prefer the look of a bed frame and beadhead too. Although I don't love our current one as it was a compromise and to fit our budget, I would go a nice chunky modern timber bed head if I could choose again & afford, something that will be 'timeless'. You can always swap out the linen when you want a change.

  • We got the ethnicraft oak Nordic @kateoliver the wood is just sooo lovely. Also waiting for the day urban outfitters come to Aus - they have all the things ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

  • I agree with the boring!

  • PM sent ๐Ÿ˜„

  • We have a king and it is fab for whole family snuggles as little wake up and wander in in the mornings! Also great for family reading at night. I love our bed frame and it has an angled bed head you can rest your pillows against for sitting up to read! If I got a new one I might go with one that had storage drawers or something handy like that underneath though.

  • We went looking for something super plain and simple and walked out with a dark blue velvet bedhead and base with drawers ๐Ÿ’™ whatever you decide, king is the bomb.

  • @dialmformummy whoa, that sounds so lush ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ’™

  • YES we have a king ensemble from Harvey Norma and itโ€™s the best! We just put a black valance over the base and have lovely linen sheets, plain, comfy and gorgeous

Canโ€™t believe this boy has finished preschool. End of an era. My last baby growing up and starting big school next year. Makes me sad and happy. Iโ€™m so going to miss our one on one days, heโ€™s my little mate.
Anyone else have their last child starting school? Such mixed emotions โค๏ธ

Thanks for all your love on my foot. X-ray showed I sprained it both sides. Thank God itโ€™s not fractured, couldnโ€™t handle a cast in this heat at the moment. Itโ€™s a little tender at the moment, but feeling better each day ๐ŸŒธ๐ŸŒบ

Ah, this monthโ€™s Endo is kicking me in the butt. Iโ€™m so grateful that I am only in pain when Iโ€™m actually on my periods and not all the time like some other Endometriosis suffers are. Iโ€™m truly grateful for that. Every month pain wise is different, but this month sucks. It really is like being in constant labour, breathing through all consuming pain. Iโ€™ve had a hard few months with my husband being so unwell and now when Iโ€™m at my weakest point, all the emotions coming to the surface and I canโ€™t help but feel so fragile and down. Reminding myself this is just a tough season and to hold on. Sending love to all of those who are battling on with your own hardships. // Tag someone some love and strength and remind them to hold on too ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’œ

Anyone else have to fill the days up individually to stop inquisitive cheeky children?! Also, gives me time to collect more things ๐Ÿ™ˆ So far Iโ€™ve got carob chocolate, notes with acts of kindness to carry out, a pass to stay up late and watch a family movie, yo-yos, socks, map to a treasure hunt in the yard, organic GF candy canes.... Would love some more ideas ๐Ÿ’ก๐ŸŒŸ

Helping Poppy ๐Ÿ’š

He canโ€™t use his hands that well these days. So my boys are always there to lend their help, get him things, feed him things, fix his feet if theyโ€™re not in a good position. /////Pascal bossed Poppy to the top of the garden, told him where to park his chair and to have a picnic together. Then he halved the fruit into two groups and proceeded to feed himself one piece and Poppy the next. Was so cute ๐Ÿ’•

Canโ€™t believe this boy is 9 today ๐ŸŽˆ
Double that and heโ€™ll be 18 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
So proud of who he is and who heโ€™s becoming. I love his personality so much. Even though at times it can be annoying ๐Ÿ˜†, I love how much heโ€™d rather chat and listen to the adults than run around with his friends, he loves adult conversation. I love that heโ€™s always been such a clean eater, never spills anything ๐Ÿ˜„. I love that he always has good manners. I love that he loves all my friends so much. He has a great sense of humour and I know weโ€™ll always be best friends.

On the weekend @crystalfrost and I decorated our first wedding. Was a lot of work, but so rewarding. Iโ€™m most proud about the flower foliage hanging behind the bridal table. I came up with the idea on the day an hour before the wedding started ๐Ÿ˜† and it turned out better than I could have imagined. So many beautiful native flowers to play with ๐Ÿ˜ Was such a beautiful wedding ๐ŸŒน oh how I love young love โค๏ธ

Canโ€™t believe how proud I am of Finn.

For all of those with children who have delays or learning disabilities, I hope you can be encouraged by Finnโ€™s progress. I remember a time where I used to wonder if heโ€™d ever talk. Then I would wonder if heโ€™d ever use two words together which he finally did when he turned 3. Then I wondered if heโ€™d ever be able to speak a proper sentence and not use filler gobbledygook (remember that video of him talking about his day at preschool? Please check #talkingwithfinny to see, down the bottom 3rd last video). He started out at school with people not always understanding him and his pronunciation and now he can read a book!
He can bloody read!!!!! ๐Ÿ˜„
I have to credit his amazing teachers who are so fantastic with him and genuinely care and are proud of him.
Finnโ€™s intellectual delay doesnโ€™t stop his willingness to try, which I think is his biggest strength. Heโ€™s so eager to learn and please his teachers.
So if youโ€™re going through a similar journey with your child but are in the earlier stages - take heart and believe they will get there ๐Ÿ’–
Finnโ€™s still playing catch up and has a long way to go, but he continues to soar ๐Ÿฆ…โœจ

Made raw caramel slice. Soooo yum ๐Ÿ˜‹
With Finn being Coeliac, thereโ€™s always a high risk of cross contamination of gluten when going out. So he can never have treats other than homemade or gross packet stuff. So I always make bulk treats and freeze them to pull out for special occasions and future parties to attend โœŒ๐Ÿผ
