Unfortunately, we were only able to explore Venice for a few hours because of the time restraints of our trip. I would love to go back there some day. Mostly for the pizza and gelato πŸ˜‹

Congratulations to my Momma on retiring from a 27 year career as a nurse! She started out helping children with cancer in pediatric oncology, spent tireless hours in the ER, and even worked with a bunch of assholes in the colonoscopy department πŸ˜‰ Mom, you are a hero and have touched and healed so many lives throughout your career, including mine. Thank you for packing my butt wound almost every day since my surgery lol. You've seen my undercarriage more times than I would have ever liked, but I will cherish the last few months that we spent together for my entire life. Cheers to the many new memories and adventures to come. I love you, Mom πŸ’™

My dog Betty has always been notorious for eating poop. Actual literal poop. Her own poop. My other dog's poop. The cat's poop. Any poop is good. It's absolutely disgusting. However, she is 15 years old, and isn't showing any signs of slowing down yet. Perhaps this is the key to her longevity. Who knows πŸ€”

Happy birthday to my brother, Garrett. I'm incredibly blessed and thankful to have a friendship like yours in my life. We've come a long way since we were a couple of goobers slaying dragons in RuneScape in the 4th grade. We've supported each other at our highest points, and walked with each other at our lowest. 15 years later we are still just a couple of goobers, slaying life's "dragons" this time. I love you and I hope 24 is a year of continued growth πŸ’™

Wish I was in Arizona playing with my CSULB team. It was nice to get out of the house though. Ducks vs. Kings is always good hockey. #anaheimducks #violentgentlemen

It's been two weeks since my surgery. I still have a ways to go, but I feel much better. I miss playing hockey though 😭Here's a picture from 14 years ago. Look at that edge work.

I am excited for 2018 and the many adventures to come. I am starting my year off right by having butt surgery. You read that right, BUTT SURGERY!!! For those who don't know, I have been dealing with an issue with my butt for over a year now. I put off getting it checked out for a long time because I was embarrassed about it, but I'm finally getting it taken care of. After several doctors have dug around down there (without taking me to dinner first I might add), I am now more or less comfortable with it. Although the surgery is minor, it will be my first time going under general anesthesia which I'm nervous about. I know everything will be fine; I just hope the surgeon is able to concentrate after noticing all the squats I've been doing. #newyearnewbutt

"USMC Sgt. Evan A Clasen. Korean War Veteran. As a 19 year old kid from Iowa, he radioed enemy positions from behind enemy lines for Navy ships and planes to shell. One night he radioed positions for the USS Iowa's main guns which 'made that hill a few feet shorter!'" 4/29/1932 - 11/4/2017. My hero. Thank you for your service Papa. And thank you to all who risk life and limb for our country.

I regret to inform you that my Grandpa passed away late last night. My heart is broken. In the 5 years since my Grandma passed, I have gotten to know my Grandfather on a more personal level, and I got to know the man that I never really knew before. He became one of my best friends as I learned about his life and all the struggles he overcame. We bonded over talks of his war/farm stories, teaching him about hockey, eating subway, and watching The Big Bang Theory together. I will forever be thankful for the time I spent with him. He was truly the most incredible man I knew. He will always be my hero and my inspiration to persevere. I will miss you immensely Papa. I am thankful you are finally pain free. Say hi to Nana for me. πŸ’™
Please keep my family in your prayers, and tell your loved ones how much they mean to you. Thank you.
I love seeing my friends achieving success. My dude Ira and his band @movementsofficial have been killing it lately. Their new album is INCREDIBLE, go check them out!!

Last week my church traveled to Stockton to serve at a local youth center. Some of the kids we hung out with there have gone through unimaginable tragedies, yet still find reasons to smile. It was a very humbling and uplifting experience. Please keep those kids in your thoughts and prayers as they struggle to fight against the poverty, drugs, gangs, and crime that surrounds them.
