🍅❤️🥫Soup with Andy, at the MoMA, NYC. Aug, 2016. 🥫❤️🍅 When Warhol first exhibited these works, they were displayed together on shelves, like you’d see soup cans in a grocery aisle. Warhol liked soup, so he painted soup (like I do with chai, lol). At the time, Campbell’s sold 32 soup varieties, so each canvas corresponds with one of 32 flavors.
Warhol left no indication about the order in which he’d like them displayed, so the MoMA displays them in chronological order, with the first being Tomato, introduced in 1897. ‘Campbell’s Soup Cans’ | Andy Warhol | 1962 | Synthetic polymer paint on canvas.

Here are the words (by Almaz A) that inspired this piece. To A:

I slipped seamlessly
into your arms as if
there had always been
a space for me there,
As if you knew that
I would one day
call you home,
As if you were always
waiting to call me
home too. 🌻🏠🌿 #therewillbechai #inspiredbylove #AGardenOfLoveWithA #inmystudio #art #artoftheday #contemporaryartist #womenwhodraw #garden #contemporaryart #artist #artistsoninstagram #illo #illustratorsoninstagram #modernart #drawing #ink #blackandwhite #illustrator #illustration #women #femininity #love #shutterbugsteratwork
