My SG wanton mee life won’t be complete till I tried this from Jurong East Yuhua Village Market. And so I journeyed to the West to do my 西遊記.
Though this is Fei Fei, it’s 肥肥 meaning “Fat Fat” and has nothing to do with the other ‘famous’ wanton mee stalls.
Long queue aside, this is one stall that almost got everything right - the noodles, tender and charred char siew, and even those wontons were plump and wrapped with some shrimp.
Young hawker looks like he is going to take over the stall, let’s hope it goes places.
Life (almost) complete. #DFDHawker

Part 2 of Shinjuku Food Guide. Other than sushi and ramen stores, my favourite are the coffee, brunch places and bakeries. Here are some of my favourites. #DFDTokyo

Part 1 of my Shinjuku Guide. For you to bookmark 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵 Featured is Tokyo Sushi Ten.
The dinner omakase is priced at ¥7000 (SGD$83.40) while the lunch set is offered at ¥3500 (SGD$41.70). There is also a simpler breakfast Omakase at 1500yen (SGD$17.90), At first I thought I heard wrongly (plus there is no menu), as sushi meals are typically expensive in Tokyo.
There were like 17-20 items. SUPER worth it #DFDTokyo

Must be first time I feature a sweet potato on IG.
One of the most popular food items from Don Don Donki is this baked Japanese Sweet Potato, available at hourly time intervals (when I went, it was 10:20pm). The cost is $2, and people start queuing 15 – 20 minutes before the sale time. Each person is limited to one piece, and you MUST bring exact change.

Of course, you can go early in the morning when there is no line and you are likely able to purchase a couple.

Carefully baked at high temperature for an hour, the medium-sized sweet potatoes were really sweet and soft. And yeah, I don’t mind queuing say 5 minutes for this.

A NEW Rice Bowl place (yes another one) at Raffles Place. Although it is called WOLF, it is not related to Wolf Burger but opened by the team behind Local Coffee People.
Had the Short Rib Bowl and Salmon Mentai Bowl.... well, competition is strong all around in the CBD.

Tarte by Cheryl Koh has relocated to Shaw Centre Level 2 with an expanded menu and cosy dining area – no sharing of space with Caveau Bar any more.

Most recently, I tried the Cherry Tart and loved the lovely blood red colour and unique sour-sweet flavour and juiciness. #DFDCake

Dear Instagram friends, so if I can only pick ONE restaurant or cafe in London, what should that be?
Pardon the photo, I know I am not influencer material with my poses. 😂

So see you soon, London! 🇬🇧 Btw, any food bloggers & writers based in London keen to be a correspondent with DFD, drop me an email! #DFDLondon

I toyed between checking out another NEW cafe, or going to a Tiong Bahru Market. I really went..... “Heck it!l in my head (would have wanted both but I need to watch my calories.) This is really comforting good stuff, add a little vinegar for that shiokness (some people added SO MUCH VINEGAR 吃什么醋?) and chopped garlic to ensure 🤭

There are 2 famous Lor Mee stalls here, this has the longer queue, and is at the corner #DFDHawker

1st Ever Flaming 🔥 Hokkaido Beef Bowl In Singapore from The Butcher's Kitchen @thebutcherskitchensg at Suntec City.

Now available 50% OFF at $11.90 for a limited period.

The bowl incorporates premium beef imported from Hokkaido, in which the meat is first cut to thin slices, then neatly stacked over the Japanese grain rice like a mini-mountain.
The rice is mixed with furikake for that added savouriness and zing.

2018 will be a year when many overseas brand will come to Singapore.
Somehow, many F&B owners I spoke to all asked the same question, “Which brand can I bring in?” rather than “What can I develop?” A challenging year for cafes indeed. This is a new bistro cafe at Jalan Bukit Merah, serving waffle, ice cream, pasta, and coffee. #DFDCafe

One day, I will get abs like this. But first, let me drink it down.
The Soya Bean was lightly sweet, beany and tasty – I like, though the Matcha Latte was too sweet and overpowered the green tea component.

Taiwanese Bakery Kazo has opened at Chinatown Point (nearer Hong Lim Food Centre side), offering a selection of Polo Buns, Cream Puffs, and Kazu Kazu which are long choux pastries.

And they also sell stinky tofu 😂 so the smell is aromatic. #DFDTaipei
