Dear person who left this umbrella on the street, thank you for the rescue!
Walk started under beautiful winter sun and turned within seconds into walking under water walls.....

A powerful Facebook reminder — 4 years ago, 5 weeks post-op, squeezing a smile amidst brain-cracking pain and daring to post a selfie on crutches.
What a difference 4 years make. •
Quoting from my own words on the caption back then: “I don't know what tomorrow would be like, but this photo will serve as self-reminder for choosing good spirits even when you're down. And that disabled (even if temporarily in my case) is snap-worthy.”
Hell yeah!

I thought it was a perfect rainy day to start a new year with till it stopped pouring for a moment, the sun came out, this gorgeous rainbow split the sky and a huge smile split my face. New year, new view, new yet to be discovered 🌦🌈💫

A year?
It was 4 in the morning, 11th of November, when my phone started buzzing. At exactly 1 month of motherhood 4am breastfeeding still felt somewhat surreal so the news that LC is gone felt beyond surreal. More so when we learned he had already died 4 days earlier.

I knew he was sick, but to me, he was always larger than life, so death didn't quite seem as an option and therefore, and oddly enough, didn't quite register that it actually happened. Maybe also because of the way he has left this world, so suddenly, no drama and out of public knowledge. •
Attending concerts of a singer you like isn't a life-changing experience. Expanding your family, is. Unbeknownst to him, Leonard Cohen has bestowed me with a huge present, down the road I had met incredible people who've become more than friends to me, they're my worldwide family, my global tribe that grew with each concert I attended.

Most of us had a chance to say goodbye, even if we didn't know at the time it was that kind of goodbye. Mostly, I think we are all grateful to have been fortunate enough to experience this journey of a lifetime. Though we no longer meet as often, we share a bond that traverses space-time continuum. We pick up from where we left. Always. It's just the way it is.

And here we are, a year later, and I've edited this photo to black and white timelessness, as it now belongs to eternity, where LC roams the heavens. And this is how I'll always remember him, with that warm shy smile and bigger than life presence and my wide smile to match.
