spent the day (mostly) not getting lost in the Dolomites, which partly make up the Italian Alps. the whole place is dotted with these little huts, and the cows are brown and wear bells 🔔

this place was 100% designed to be posted on instagram, and I have 100% fallen for that trap

the only good part of this heatwave is eating dinner on the deck in shorts

after I took this picture, a man walked out of the station and asked if I liked the new blue brick on the other side. I told him I mostly just liked the sign.

when I was a kid, it was all the rage to have your birthday party at a climbing gym. And there was always one kid who would get a couple feet off the ground and start to cry. I can say with some certainty that there was "always" that kid, because that kid was always me.

I've been climbing on and off for a few years now, but I've been climbing pretty regularly recently (2-3 times a week). I'm at a place on the learning curve right now that is extremely satisfying--I couldn't finish this 5.10c last week, and when I finally came down I was panting and sweating. But this morning I went right up. 〰

My 8 year old self is pretty pleased. (And, frankly, my 23 year old self is, too.)
