Ruth 1
In the fall of 2003, I sat in a coliseum full of women at a Beth Moore conference where she was teaching on Ruth.
I was at the end of a bitter tasting divorce, less than 2 years after I had gotten married, and completely heartbroken that anything like this could ever happen in my life. How could so much be taken from me against my will? It was a tough time for me to understand friends. As I sat there, a young woman of 22, I opened my Bible and listened to a beautiful teaching about Ruth's life. At the end of chapter 1, it says that they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest. She stopped in her teaching right there and said something that I will never forget. "Your greatest loss may come just before your greatest harvest." The Holy Spirit stirred those words in my soul so deeply and my eyes filled with tears. I knew those words were for me. I mean, it was sweet that all of those other thousands of women were there, but that part, it was FOR ME! The Holy Spirit comforted me with that over and over again.
Looking back on it, it seems even sweeter. It was less than a year later that the Lord began to allow me to reap a beautiful harvest in my life.
Friends, the harvest can only be gathered with empty arms. He gives and He takes away, but as his child I can rest in Romans 8:28 "For we know that all things work together for the GOOD of those who love him and are called according to his purpose."
He sees the whole picture. He knows your losses and your harvests, and he's working it ALL together for your good. I can't begin to tell you what a good, good Father He is!!! ❤️ (My wheat (barley) is inspired fully by @christy_fae 🌾🌾🌾😘) .

Colossians 3 has a wealth of practical advice for Spirit filled living! I encourage you to go read through it today...time in God’s Word is always well spent! .
.
.
This time of year, when stresses run high, it can be hard to put on love... but we must! It will make a difference not just in our lives but also in the lives of those around us. 💕standing in that too long line? Put on love. 💕dealing with that impossible family member? Put on love. 💕telling your kids something for the 2000th time? Put on love. 💕taking on one more project when you’re at the end of your rope? Put on love. .
.
It’s hard to put on “new things” if we’ve not first taken off the “old”. But his grace is sufficient, friend, to cast off all of those old things and to put on all of those new things that make us more like Christ. May we fully submit to His Will and ways and be adorned, most beautifully, by Him! 💕

These first few verses of John are just so full of deep and rich truth!
Can you imagine Jesus, coming to the very place He dreamed up and created with the Father in the beginning? The earth. His idea. His creation. He came. It was not a new place for Him. This was not a new purpose purpose for Him. This was His place and His purpose from long before we knew it would come to pass... and not because He needed to, but because we needed Him to. ♥️
.
The infinite fullness and wisdom of God wrapped up and packed into tiny human flesh... The all knowing, all powerful God would now depend on His very creation for all of His physical nourishment and needs. He would need Mary, whom He put together from the DNA up, to now change His diaper for Him... this kind of love and humility is beyond my comprehension. .
.
Jesus was the oldest person at His birth. So very ordinary, yet so completely extraordinary.🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼♥️ “Jesus, Lord at Thy birth” .

Luke 2 is a long standing favorite passage for me. ♥️ A few years ago I committed a good portion of it to memory, because, I mean, if Linus can memorize it, then so can I, right? 🤓 I can’t quote it perfectly today, because I’ve not kept it up, but it’s still a highly familiar passage... and this verse has always been one that I’ve pondered... If Jesus’ birth is good news of great joy for ALL people, then why aren’t all people joyful about it? Why do some reject this “good news”? Why do others lack this “great joy”? In my ponderings, here are some thoughts I’ve had: .
1)Good news sounds better when it’s offered in contrast to bad news. In other words, getting a Savior only sounds good when you know how bad you NEED one. If you’ve got it all together, and life is mostly good, and you don’t realize your sinfulness before God, why would you think you need a Savior? This is why it’s important that we share a Gospel of God’s holiness, man’s depravity, and salvation by grace through faith in Christ. Any other presentation allows for a way other than Jesus and is a false Gospel. .
2) Joy comes only through Christ. Many people subscribe to this “good news” but are lacking in the joy department... and I think it’s because they need Christ. Accepting the “head knowledge” of your need for a Savior is not the same as turning your life over to Him. When Christ becomes not just a part of your life, but the focus of your life, that is when your joy will be made full!
Where are you this season? Have you accepted the good news? Are you full of great joy? If not, you can be... It’s for ALL PEOPLE! Jesus is for ALL PEOPLE! Let’s share Him this season! ♥️🙌🏼

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" So you are no longer a slave, but a son, and if a son, then an heir through God.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭4:4-7‬ ‭

Not just forgiven; not just redeemed, but adopted! ♥️♥️♥️ What else is there to say?! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 .

Oh, there’s nothing like a new Bible! ♥️
I decided to do my Scripture writing in it this morning because all of the pristine, cream colored pages were begging for some quality time... .
.
I’m preparing my heart for advent by reading and writing through some Old Testament prophesies. The Bible is so much more than an amazing piece of literature. It’s more than an instruction book. It’s more than an incredible story. It is ALL of those things, but to know that this book contains the very living and breathing words of my Father; to know that this is what He wants me to know about Himself and myself and how I can be included in His miraculously wonderful plan... it’s almost too much for my mind to wrap around. ♥️ Aren’t you thankful for the gift of His Word, written down, in plain English for us to feast on and treasure? What a gift, friends! What a gift!🙌🏼♥️ .
.
And this season, too, I’m thankful for the Word made flesh. I’m thankful for the example and fulfillment we have in Christ. How are you preparing your heart this season? Don’t let it pass you by! He has so much to teach us, and I don’t want to miss it; I don’t want to miss Him! ♥️♥️♥️ .
.
P.S. I’m also thankful for beautiful friends who understand your heart and give invaluable gifts.😘

Repost from last year. Because Jesus and fall leaves.😍 .
Isaiah 48
Rain or shine...
Better or worse...
Mountaintop or valley...
Fire or flood...
Life or death...
Feast or famine...
It is ALL for the glory of his name!
For our good and His glory. We may not see it now. We may not think it. But we can KNOW it! Friends, the Lord is sovereign. In other words, nothing happens without Him being in control of it. And It will ALL bring glory to His name!
As we see through the glass dimly, we can rest in the Truth and security we have in Him. It's my prayer for all of my brothers and sisters in Christ, that even when we're in the midst of life and turmoil and joy that our souls are at peace in Him!
His glory WILL be made known and His children WILL be taken care of. What else do we need?
Father, may my life always reflect your glory, no matter the circumstance or situation. May it ALL be for the glory of your name! 🙌🏼🍂🍁 .

I love all of the spiritual parallels God allows us to see in every day life!
I’m so thankful He picked me, cleaned all of the disgusting mess out of me, made me more like Him, and let’s me shine with His light! 🙌🏼❤️.
.

Halloween is not my favorite. But I do love lettering on pumpkins. 😜😂 The kids wanted to carve some, and I’m terrible at that, so I did the bare minimum (stab it a few times with a screw driver and try to carve some sparkle stars) and lettered that bad boy. Because, honestly that was the only hope for this thing.🤦🏻‍♀️ My husband had never carved one before (how?🤷🏻‍♀️) and he carved a Batman logo for my son and himself. (I won’t show you that one😂😂😂😜) If I have time, I’ll try to paint one tomorrow. 😍🤓

It’s all in our perspective, isn’t it?
If it pushes us to our Father, it’s a blessing!
This life is all we know and all we see, but this world is not our home. We weren’t made for earthly purposes. Oh, if we could see the beauty that awaits us... If we share in His suffering, we will also share in His glory!
And When we shift our perspective from earthly to eternal, we can more clearly see the beauty right here in the middle of our imperfect situations, our mundane lives, or our deep disappointments. Child of God, every line of your story is meant for your good and for His glory.
I pray that we would learn to truly count it all joy! Real and honest joy... not just know that we SHOULD count it joy, but that deep in our souls, our Spirits soar at the thought of being made more like Him through our trials. I pray that we yearn for personal conversations with our Maker... not just a few “churchy” phrases strung together to check a daily prayer time off of our list, but a real time of conversational seeking and finding, bold petitioning, and purposeful solitude and silence in the Lord’s presence. And I pray that we would meet Him in His Word often, knowing that He is waiting for us to come.
Father, shift our perspective! Give us the grace to obey the command to set our minds on things above! Thank you for the privileges we have through Christ, and may we take full advantage of them! ❤️

Grow in grace.❤️ Do you ever look around you and get discouraged because it looks like others are reaping a harvest while you’re just sitting, seemingly dormant? Do you ever wonder why you don’t see true spiritual growth and maturity in your life? Are you ever bitter about where God has you and what He has you doing? .

I think if we are honest, most of us could’ve answered yes to at least one of these questions at some point in our walk with the Lord. .
Here’s what we know: we all walk through seasons. Seasons of sowing and planting; seasons of harvest, and yes, even seasons of dormancy and rest. The problems arise when we get bitter with our season, comparing it to a season someone else is in. See, we don’t all walk through summer at the same time. And when we get bitter, we don’t clearly see our situation or our season. We are where we are for a reason and a purpose. What you are walking through right now is not by happenstance, in fact, it’s by divine love. .
.

Don’t be afraid of being planted. Do not despise small beginnings. Invest yourself fully exactly where you are. Breathe in His grace, and get to work doing what He’s called you to. The work may be hard, or the load may be light, but no matter the circumstance, make the most of it. Don’t miss the beauty of every season. .
.
.

Know that He has plans to make you mighty in His Kingdom for the glory of His name. What we see is not what He sees. And the world will often call foolish what the Lord calls great. Grow in His grace, friend, and allow Him to do in you much more than you could ever imagine! ❤️

This can be hard to do... Because true love looks different than what the world tells us. Love is not a limited emotion; Love is always a choice. And love seeks to understand, but it never compromises truth. Love covers a multitude of sins, the Bible tells us, so I’m gonna try to do it well. Even when I’m exhausted, or frustrated, or hanging on by a thread... Love for one another is what the world will know us by. And I’m always in awe that we have all we need to do this... we just need to make the choice to walk in it. Not in our mess, but in His love. ❤️ .
.

Another post from last year, because I’m so busy finishing up orders and working on other projects. (While I’m doing school with the kiddos🤓) And I can’t share any of the stuff I’m currently working on, so this repeat from last year will have to do.🤷🏻‍♀️ .
.
All Etsy orders will ship today!🎉🙌🏼 Thanks for your patience over the last few weeks as I’ve had one thing after another come up. ❤️You ALL are simply amazing! 😘

I’ve had several people commenting/asking about my daily Scripture writing lately, so I thought I’d share this morning.☺️❤️ Yes, this is still a daily thing for me...the writing and meditation (& doodling). I’m still writing through my memory work in Ephesians. So I write, then I doodle while I meditate on and work on memorizing what I wrote. It’s just parts of my morning quiet time with the Lord, and probably something I will continue, in one way or another, for as many days as He gives me. I want to say this again, but I don’t do this because I HAVE to (there are many other ways to meditate and memorize Scripture), I don’t do this so I’ll have a “pretty” page to post, (because, obviously most of these pages will just stay tucked away in journals🤦🏻‍♀️), I don’t do this because God loves me more when I delight in His Word (His love doesn’t depend on my works). I do this because I need Him! ...And this is what works for me. This is how I draw close to Him. This is how I hide His Word in my heart as to keep it with me. This is how I focus my thoughts and time and attention on Him at the beginning of my day...So if it ain’t broke, I’m not fixin’ it! 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
Let me encourage you to find what works for you! Maybe it’s writing. Maybe doodling. Maybe moving. Maybe complete silence. Maybe vocal. I don’t know. But find a way to not just read, but to meditate and apply God’s Word daily. We need it more than we need our breakfast or our coffee...More than we need that scroll through IG or Twitter or FB...More than we need to look put together....We need Him, and He speaks most often through His Word! It doesn’t have to take an hour, but it should take something. He will meet us as we seek Him! Don’t neglect Him in His Word. Start fresh today! Meet with Him! He’s there waiting for you, friend! ❤️❤️❤️and His grace is sufficient! 🙌🏼

Harvest.
.
.
Living for the Lord can be exhausting, huh? I mean, some days you’re loving well and serving people selflessly and giving generously and praying without ceasing and delighting in God and his Word... and other days it takes every ounce of energy you have to keep from muttering ugly things under your breath standing in the line at WalMart.🤦🏻‍♀️ .
.
Some days are easier than others. Some seasons are harder to walk through than others. Some pills are just hard to swallow, and some things we may never understand, but we aren’t called to do good just on our good days. We aren’t called to love just those that love us. We aren’t called to give cheerfully only in our abundance. .
.
I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again: we are called to HARD things. To do good to those that don’t deserve it. To lift up in prayer and love those that will never do the same for us. To give generously even in our lack. Others first. ...but oh, how our flesh screams against it! Oh, how quickly we forget and demand OUR way, or wallow in self pity or doubt, or exact our own revenge rather than trusting the Lord in His omniscience and sovereignty. .
.

But let me encourage you, sweet friends: do not grow weary! Remember where your strength and help come from. Don’t rely on your own strength, but rest your soul in His endless supply and work hard from that place. Pour yourself out! Give beyond your means! Pick up your Bible when Netflix and chill would be so much easier. Do all of your work as if working for the Lord and not for men. Offer smiles and words of encouragement even when your heart doesn’t feel like it. Pray without ceasing. ❤️ The harvest is coming. Maybe not in this season... you may plow for a very long time, you may have to water and weed and water some more, but we have to remember that we aren’t responsible for the outcome of the harvest. We are responsible for the faithful work of the harvest. And He will be with us and allow us to do His will by His grace and in His strength. .
.

Again friends, the harvest is coming, and it will be plentiful and good because that’s who He is! 🙌🏼 ...if we do not give up! ❤️🙌🏼
