Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.

Leaves worth turning. Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace & gratitude. - Denis Waitley

I'm never sure if it's too early to start thinking about Christmas decorations but I couldn't resist posting this simple line up of vintage bottles, seems like a perfect way of displaying delicate Christmas flora. Do you favour foraged Christmas decorations or tradition shop bought decorations?

I often feel grateful for my nature books and podcasts and all those science educators who will kindly explain things to me. The universe puts me back in my place and reminds me that the reality of nature is much more incredible and wondrous than us humans could ever begin to imagine.

When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate, when life is bitter, say thank you and grow.

For the sense of smell, almost more than any other, has the power to recall memories and it's a pity we use it so little. Eucalyptus always reminds me that Christmas is coming, do you have a special smell that holds fond memories for you ?

Softly the leaves of memory fall, gently I gather and treasure them all, unseen, unheard, you are always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear.

The amazing thing with Instagram is that from time to time discover things which may otherwise go undetected. @creativecountryside is more than a magazine it encapsulates so much of what I believe in life; nature, folklore and adventure . The great thing is that this magazine is back in print having sold out first time round. Do you like reading print magazine and might you have a recommendation for me ?

This week has been a bit of a rollercoaster with amazing acts of kindness which encapsulate what I love about Instagram. But I also acknowledge that from time to time it's the community that makes it particularly special so today please tag a friend or someone who you think needs some love ?

Have a lovely weekend.

Recently I've been overwhelmed by the acts of kindness expressed on Instagram- the community spirit, support and beautifully imagery. It completely encapsulates what I love about Instagram but last week was particularly special as I revived this book from the lovely @jessicarosewilliams if you don't already follow her I urge you to pop right over to see here beautiful gallery and follow here disciplined lifestyle
I love this idea of giving something away for the sake of kindness!

The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone is likely to find themselves in places no one has ever been before.
Which one are you ?

In ordinary life we hardly realise that we revive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.

November comes and November goes, with the last red berries and the first white snows.
With night coming early, and the dawn coming late, and ice in the bucket and frost on the gate.
The fire burn and the kettle sing, and earth sinks to rest until next Spring. - Clyde Watson

Happy November everyone
