So frustrating not being able to get out on the hills with bad ankle! 😒So instead of a summit selfie here’s a sofa selfie😂
While I’m out of action with busted ankle for next 4 weeks or so, I’m already missing the hills. Got me thinking of some of the treks I have done over the years. Although the Laugavegur in Iceland isn’t the hardest I have done, it’s certainly one of the most spectacular ones. This was at possibly the best and windiest campsite ever at Álftavatn. No filter needed

A canny day with the gang avoiding the rain in the Lake District and turned into a cracking weather day. Day didn't end well though as I went over on my ankle in way to pub!!
So I met this Slovakian guy called Peter in 2014 as part of Fjällräven Polar. We spoke virtually leading up to Polar, yet didn't get to speak so much during polar due to conditions etc. We always said we would visit each other. Since then he has visited me in Scotland with his wife Denisa and this week he has been such an amazing host along with Denisa, Oliver and both their families. Me and my mate Jason could not have been treated any better. Truly an amazing experience and generous hospitality. Thank you all so much!Until the next time my great friend😊Miss you already. God save the queen! 😉😊
PS: so glad we all got the check shirt memo, even though Jase was wearing "that" brand 😂😂Call the Fjall Police! 😂#slivovitz
Had to repost this awesome photo by my great Polar friend and awesome photographer @peter.holly Sums up this amazing weeks adventure in Slovakia 🇸🇰Thanks Peter, Denisa, Oliver and family for been such amazing hosts. Can't wait to return in the winter😀Until the next time my great friend😊
Finally some snow and mountains! 😀
Not bad digs for the night after hike. Drinking Tatra tea with Slivovitz chasers
Taking in the views of the hike we did to Sulov rocks and derelict castle from a viewing shelter in field nearby. Photo taken by my Polar mate @peter.holly
When you have lunch below a Slovakian castle🇸🇰Beckov Castle
Coffee before heading to the mountains😀
When in Slovakia, head to a Scottish bar😀Beats the usual Irish bar in every city 😂I cannae wait to be heading to the Tatra mountains tomorrow!
Second leg of this weeks adventure complete. Tomorrow Polar reunion with @peter.holly and a week of hiking!
First leg of this weeks adventure complete. Tomorrow a different country, different city en route to another Polar reunion and a week of hiking!
Munros 64 and 65 bagged today up Ben Lawers and Beinn Ghlas. Canny short day and great weather!
Been a while since seen sunset over the village, but this just appeared. Liking the reflections on windows on the left.
When asked about recent hiking trip to Norway, I say it's like Scotland on steroids. Just got back from Glencoe wild camp weekend. Glencoe was certainly on steroids this weekend! Munros 62 and 63 bagged. You can just see Ben Nevis and CMD Arête at top left of this picture.

A wee bit of city culture. Vigelandsparken full of naked sculptures
