For all my fellow late night snackers!
@Regranned from @maxweberfit - 🥨 Try This Late Night Snack! 🥨

🙂 Hey there late night snacker! How ya doin? Good? Nice, me too! Buttttttt…. you’re having trouble with what to eat when your tummy is rumbling late in the evening, and your calories are running low? Yup, I get it. I’ve been there… so you’re not alone! And luckily, I’ve got some tips (and a snack option) just for you, that’ll help you with all this late night snacking stuff!
-
🙉 Now, you might be thinking that eating late at night (or at least sometime later in the evening) is directly going to add body fat to your frame. Not true. If total calories for the day are controlled, meal timing will not have a direct impact on the body fat you lose or gain. You can eat in the morning, mid-day, or at night. It doesn’t matter a whole lot, generally speaking. Ok?
-
😵 HOWEVER, the reason snacking late at night gets a bad rap is simply because since it’s later in the day, the likelihood of going over your total calories allotted is a real thing.
-
🌙 So, while you can snack at night, it’s important to control portion sizes, and total calories, so the snack can fuel your body, help recovery, fill you up and hold you over until your next meal.
-
🌶 And that’s why it often makes a good amount of sense to snack on lower-calorie foods during this time that not only taste good, but satisfy some of your cravings.
-
🥨 I like some pretzel crips because they’re crunchy and fun to eat, they’re low-fat and they play well with others — like peppers (micronutrient dense and low-calorie) and cottage cheese (high in protein). I also like sparkling water (or maybe herbal tea) because it’s fun to drink, and often more satisfying than just a glass of regular H2O.
-
👍🏼 And as a general rule of thumb, protein at every meal (including late at night) makes a lot of sense. It fills you up, it’s the most difficult macronutrient to consume for most people and it’s muscle sparing in a deficit. All good things!

😊 I hope you found this helpful! Thanks for reading, and hit me with questions down below! NIGHT! - #regrann
