yogahariom Yogayı diğer felsefelerden ayrıcalıklı kılan insanlığın köklerinin çok eski yazılı kaynaklarda olmasıdır. Bu kaynaklar Vedalar gibi Hint-Avrupa dillerinin ilk yazılarıdır. Binlerce sayfayı bulan bu eserler Türkçeye hiç çevirilmedi. Bora Ercan, öncelikle bu eserlerin önemini ortaya çıktığı dönemin sosyal koşulları Marksist tarih anlayışıyla çözümlerken eserlerden örnek çeviriler de vererek yorumlamalar yapıyor. Yoganın, klasik bir benzetmeyle, buzdağının görünmeyen bölümlerine ışık tutmayı amaçlayan eserde Yoga Tattva Upanishad gibi yoga için çok önemli bir metin tam çeviri olarak veriliyor. Yazar, diğer bir yandan da Annales Tarih Okulu’nun felsefi yaklaşımıyla bugünden mitolojiye yogayı derinlemesine incelemektedir.
Ülkemizde sadece popüler bir moda gibi algılanmaya başlayan yogayı gerçek anlamıyla anlamak isteyenler için bir kitap. Tamamı üç ciltte tamamlanacak olan eserin ilk cildi.

I have no science to back that statement up, but I feel like we all pay more attention to our hair and how it feels when it's not under hats, hoods, and scarves you'll see the results (good or bad,) better Don't forget to hit me back up when you do try it! 2h

Stand in Tadasana (Mountain Pose). With an exhalation, step or lightly jump your feet 3 1/2 to 4 feet apart. Raise your arms parallel to the floor and reach them actively out to the sides, shoulder blades wide, palms down.

Turn your right foot slightly to the right and your left foot out to the left 90 degrees. Align the left heel with the right heel. Firm your thighs and turn your left thigh outward so that the center of the left knee cap is in line with the center of the left ankle.

Exhale and bend your left knee over the left ankle, so that the shin is perpendicular to the floor. If possible, bring the left thigh parallel to the floor. Anchor this movement of the left knee by strengthening the right leg and pressing the outer right heel firmly
Stretch the arms away from the space between the shoulder blades, parallel to the floor. Don’t lean the torso over the left thigh: Keep the sides of the torso equally long and the shoulders directly over the pelvis. Press the tailbone slightly toward the pubis. Turn the head to the left and look out over the fingers.

Stay for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Inhale to come up. Reverse the feet and repeat for the same length of time to the left.

mynameisjessamyn Since today is Teacher Appreciation Day, @yogafoster wondered if there was a teacher who has particularly inspired me. I don't know if she knows it, but Sharon Oxford (my high school political science and economics teacher) made a huge impact on my development. An OG feminist Southern Belle, a woman who wears a million hats but always has her makeup applied properly- she sowed the seeds of my personal feminist mission and always encouraged me to be the best I can be. She also gave me the most valuable financial advice I've ever received- "Never get a credit card if you don't know where you'll find cash for the bill."
