cinnamankinnaman I've always enjoyed working out and have kept myself in relatively good shape but the pic on the left of me was taken on 3/15/15 after a long sedentary winter of eating too much crap and not moving my body enough. I was fed up with the extra weight that had snuck up on me over those cold, few months so I snapped a couple of photos of myself in all my chunky glory as a reminder to never get that way again. Due to a lot of stress in 2015, I lost about 15lbs without even trying but still wasn't working out regularly so therefore, I wasn't toned. For me, it's not about being skinny but being strong . And it's not about a NY resolution, it's about maintaining an active lifestyle I enjoy. Fast forward to today, the pic on the right, after 6 weeks of a solid program of cardio, weight training, clean eating and very little alcohol. I've still got a long way to go but I'm looking forward to taking the final "after" pic on 3/15/16 to see the progress I've made in a year. I don't want to lose much more weight but I definitely want my muscles back. _trainingwithsy I was waiting to post this for the new years but couldn't wait it out. Plus I'm going to change my workouts slightly by adding cardio.
So here we have my 4 month transformation. I was 196lbs on the right and 184lbs on the left. Never in the past 5 years have I been under 192lbs. I also never really paid attention to what I was eating but I was working my ass off in the gym harder than I am now and never dropped under 192lbs. Thanks to @tchanfitness guiding me through plateaus and mentoring me in tailoring my meal plan.
What I've done in the past 4 months was make changes in my eating habits and actually started counting my macros. I don't think of it as dieting, I think of it as a change of eating habits. I'm never starving and haven't done any more than 30 mins of cardio on average per week during the past 4 months. I'm more than pleased that I hadn't had to do cardio as much as people think you need to. And on top of that, I'm still eating amazing foods like rice, pizza, pancakes, ice cream here and there, pho, and pasta every day.
Too often people think losing weight consists of salads, massive amounts of cardio, constant starvation, magical shakes and detoxes. This isn't the case. It's lifting weights, eating enough to fuel your metabolism, mathing and maping out what you are going to eat.
This is just a stepping stone to what I want to achieve aesthetically. Can't wait for the next few months to come!
