I'm still reeling and self-reflecting from this amazing weekend in Wisconsin. I think lot of you who follow my journey see me as a mostly positive, motivated, happy-go-lucky girl... And that's true! But what most people probably don't realize that just two years ago I was unhealthy, unmotivated, and depressed! I grew up playing sports but when I eventually slowed down and quit, things changed for the worse. I never realized the impact exercise had on me until around January 2013 when I started taking a walk every day after work when I would normally be napping! My energy level was a natural high, my appetite came back, and I eventually started to see changes on my body.
Exercise has been something that has opened a door for me. I'm so fortunate to have had the opportunity to make health & fitness my lifestyle & my career. Although it is a struggle at times, trying to stay healthy and accountable & helping others do the same has changed my life in a way that makes me afraid to even imagine where I would have ended up without it.
Addiction runs in my family, I have family members with heart problems and diabetes, I have family members with depression. But all of those have become the opposite of obstacles for me - instead they are my motivation. I know I can live a long and healthy life and show others to do the same. And whatever you are dealing with, you can overcome it too. You can beat the odds and you can make a difference. I would love to have someone like you on our team and in our community.
