namastessyoga Miami, my second home for the past five years, every time I have to leave you, your beaches and the beautiful people whom inhabit you, my heart cries. Even though I know I'll inevitably be back one day. I am always sad to leave the place where my heart shines. 2mon

namastessyoga It's my Birthday today instagram! 26 I just wanted to express how grateful I am for the year that has passed. For the first time in my life I have been brave enough to go against the grain of society and instead of getting a "real job" after getting my masters, I followed my heart back home to my family and then to Indonesia for my yoga teacher training to embark on this absolutely amazing existence that allows me to be healthy, be happy, and share those things with others. I know that if it weren't for this, I probably wouldn't have been able to endure some of the emotional challenges I have been presented with this month. Above all I am grateful for my family and friends and to have been blessed with travel these past two months. In a few days I am going back to Europe, where I will be officially opening up my own yoga studio. I look forward to starting this new year with a clean bill of health, a conscience mind, and the prospect of being successful at something I love. This picture was taken by my friend, Kari, yesterday at the beach. I was laughing in between yoga poses, probably about to say something, totally consumed and present in the moment. I didn't know she was taking it but I feel like she captured a part of my essence and I hope that in the year to come I can remember that this smiling person - this is who I really am. 2mon

namastessyoga RANT. Begin. Some individuals think it's okay to comment or pass judgment on what I wear (or don't wear rather) in my posts. Here's a tip. It's not. It's not okay to force your beliefs onto others. If what I wear or don't wear offends you, then please by all means, the unfollow button is just a few clicks away. However, do NOT post comments or send messages telling me that I do not respect myself based on what I wear. Personally, I think that you are ignorant and really if your level of respect for yourself is based on your wardrobe, then maybe YOU don't respect or value YOURSELF enough. Because as far as I am concerned, clothed or naked - I am worthy of respect regardless. I don't post these pictures to get attention, especially not in a yoga context. I'm not sitting over here like "hey, look at my (rockin) bod." Im just sharing a part of my day. This is how I would dress regardless of whether it goes on Instagram or not. Because I value myself enough to wear what is comfortable for ME. I am not going to go out and feel uncomfortable for someone else. Sorry, not sorry. Further this kind of thinking just perpetuates rape culture and allows for the continuous entrapment of women's sexualities and minds. It's really a sad commentary on our culture and society. Some of you who look to your religions (especially certain religions who tend to blame women for every sin on earth and try to limit her in all capacities - no offense meant, just my opinion) should maybe look further back at Egyptian or pagan history to see that a woman's body is the source of all life. It is to be respected in all forms. Sexual or not - a woman's body is the highest form of art. My body is art. Every woman's body is art. It's so sad that OTHER women can't see this. It's as if they have blinders on that force them to look at themselves through a male dominated, oppressed frame that limits their bodies to objects for sex. I am really sorry that when you see my body or your own, that that's all you see. But when I see my body and other women, I see beauty, creation, and infinitely more. End rant. 1mon
