mkritzler Sunday's are for relaxing, which is not so difficult when the weathers like this. Still, there's some comfort in finding a familiar sight in a peaceful mood. 7d
  •   mackelleen I love this caption. My friend has told me she thinks southern Californians miss out on the benefits of the snowy winter hibernation that others have. Non stop going isn't good for us. (Interesting thought - and I've been hibernating a bit this winter because it's been extra chilly!) 6d
  •   cocas_cocas Wow! 5d
  •   mkritzler @cocas_cocas thanks!! 2d
  •   mkritzler @mackelleen thanks kel! Yes, indeed that's exactly what I love about the weather in Europe - after living in Mexico City, where the temperature rarely goes above 28C or below 18C, living the seasons gives you perspective on the passage of time and gives you a time for reflection, which is quite helpful. 2d
  •   clairevoie Beautiful 2d
  •   mackelleen Very interesting. Having grown up in SoCal, I've not been aware of the practice; this year is colder than others, so I've had a mini-sense of it, enjoying a recluse. 2d

mkritzler My loved #solotree under my favorite constellation, #orion. The three stars in Orion's Belt (Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka) are also called the Three Kings, as they are best seen around Epiphany (jan 6) which is when the Magi visited baby Jesus. Obviously, you also have Orion's shoulders marked by the very shiny Bellatrix (right, blue giant) and Betelgeuse (left, massive red supergiant), Rigel on Orion's left foot (seen here on the right, blue supergiant) and Orion's Nebula on his sword. Anyway, I just enjoy watching these stars instead of the ones on tv, despite the fact that I stood for about 15 minutes at -2C to take the shots... 2w
