craftlabknives Time to start to grind these Twcas to shape and get the bevels ground on before bending. #craftlabknives #toolmaking #twca #spooncarving 4d
  •   michaelsimonik Do you sell without a wood handle ? 4d
  •   craftlabknives @michaelsimonik sure these twcas are sold as blades or with a handle. It is best without as they are much cheaper to ship to you and are Avery easy to fit a handle. cheers Ben 3d

floriptoolworks My first 320 tooth plate. This saw has made it apparent that I need to build a larger table to carry the saw plate as it is punched. Next step is the throat less shear followed by the slip roller. #handsaw #handtools #flypress #makingstuff #toolmaking 4d

joseph_eidolon Magnesium hot-stamping dies are very useful, but with my style of traditional hand-binding hand tools are much more versatile. 15 minutes and a bit of elbow grease, and a mounted die becomes a hand tool. #eidolonhouse #bookbinding #encuadernación #goldtooling #blindtooling #toolmaking #tools 1w

craftlabknives Just thought I would show you the extraction set up I use when grinding bowl hooks or convex grinds. Got the KMG running in reverse and the extraction hose clipped to the grinder, seems to work really well to keep the dust down in the grinding room. @moleskinjoe #craftlabknives #extraction #kmg #toolmaking #grinding 3w

ericervinwoodworker decided it was time to use that plane iron I've had lying around. so I made a Japanese style plane. have to give credit to @bjmacwoodwork for the inspiration to make it after his sweet plane he made last week. #woodshop #woodwork #toolmaking #handmade 4w
  •   bjmacwoodwork Wow! That's beautiful! I've been thinking about a Japanese plane as well. Did you base this one off of anything? 4w
  •   ericervinwoodworker @bjmacwoodwork well the blade, because I had it but I have a book on Japanese tools and I have a wider Japanese plane, but I changed the angle on this one to 55* rather than the 45 of my other. but all in all it's based on the traditional Japanese minus the metal chip breaker and add a wood one 4w
  •   bjmacwoodwork Thanks so much for sharing, now I just need to find an iron! 4w
  •   jwtwoodworks @bjmacwoodwork the word travels fast around here. I love it! 4w

floriptoolworks Piecing together this half back saw for a rough fitting. A lot more work to do but am happy this saw will get finished. The plate developed a curve when it was cut out so I thought it was destined to be card scrapers. I ran it through the new slip roller and the plate is now perfectly straight. Thank god for cool tools. #toolmaking #saws #handtools ##woodworking #woodwork 1mon
  •   floriptoolworks The short back adds stiffness to the saw plate. It's a good saw for accurate dimensioning as long as the wood isn't too thick. I can crosscut 14" wide 8/4 stock without a problem while keeping a very accurate cut. They also look cool :) 1mon
  •   charliesimpsonwftx Erik what is the overall length of that saw and how much for one? 1mon
  •   floriptoolworks @charliesimpsonwftx the blade length is 20" and the overall length is just under 25". This saw completed will be $160. 1mon
  •   charliesimpsonwftx That is awesome Erik, thank you! I want a cross cut one for my Dutch Tool Chest. I'll holler in a couple of weeks. How much of a deposit do you need and what is your lead time? 1mon
  •   north_summit looks awesome, love half-back saws, they are just so darn cool, can't wait to see it finished. 1mon
  •   floriptoolworks @charliesimpsonwftx sounds good. No deposit needed...just give me a shout when you're ready for the saw to be started, normally takes 3 to 4 weeks. 1mon
  •   papa0660 Who uses hand saws anymore ? 1mon
  •   charliesimpsonwftx Will do Erik! Give me a week or two. 1mon
