hevurguy84 Once a year I allow myself a milkshake and this is it. My shamrock shake. Thankfully, no pregnancy induced heartburn or this couldn't happen this year. #diabeticscanhavesugarinmoderation #allaboutknowingyourlimits #t1diabetes #yummy 2d

typeonelifting Today is my #diaversary. I don't have any pictures from that year, but this one is from that general tween era. I was 10 years old on February 25th, 2000. I was so sick and ready to feel better. But I had no idea what I was in for. What we know about the disease and how we treat it has changed so much since I was 10 years old. Anyone else out there really good at multiplying by 15? LOL. I've learned a lot too. I'm so grateful for the people who helped me along the way. My parents especially. I was fortunate enough to have parents that took really, really good care of me. Despite the lessons and the triumphs, there's still a harsh reality: Diabetes sucks. A lot. In fact, I HATE it. In some ways, I'm better for it. But most days, I just want to punch diabetes in the face. I won't let diabetes ruin my life, and I will stay positive despite the challenge, but don't ask me to like my disease. I never will. Diabetes makes EVERYTHING harder. Absolutely everything. I lived in denial about this for a while. I tried so hard to be normal and to not inconvenience others with my disease. But now I'm honest with myself. I have a life-altering disease. A disease that takes lives all the time. I'm stronger for it, but we still need a cure, and we need it now. #fifteenyears #diabetic #diabetes #jdrf #typeonediabetes #typeone #typeonediabetic #t1 #t1d #t1diabetes #type1diabetic #autoimmunedisease #diabetichealth #diabeticfitness #diabadass #diabuddies #diapals #PWD #duckfiabetes #insulindependent #hypoglycemia #hyperglycemia #diaversary 2d

Just be positive and live with your head high with this same attitude it's an endless road of daily shots and pricking million times and still having that smile on the face .. every year ..every diaversary makes you believe more in yourself and gives us a new boost to carry on with a hope for good health have faith and look at urself in the mirror and say .."hey bring it on ..I will give you my best shot!!!" -"Faith is taking the first step even when you can't see the whole staircase -Martin Luther king Jr." Lots of love and sweetness from one t1d to another 😀we gonna fight this !!😀Bring it on!happy sweetness!! @typeonelifting 2d

endthetrendz I embrace my failures... I'm not ashamed of them. They push me further than I could ever imagine possible. I have ALWAYS had a high blood sugar phobia. It started when I was first diagnosed and I had to see an eye doctor who basically told me what a horrible life I would have. I was just a kid and realizing my own mortality... That's when the phobia started I think, and over time, it began to cause trouble. Instead of complications from going high, I was having complications from going low. I developed hypoglycemia unawareness. I WAS FAILING MYSELF! But, this made me so upset, I vowed Diabetes would not rule my life. I made myself a promise. Today I'm fit, healthy and under control. I've never been as healthy as I am now. All it took was determination and knowing I could do it. Yes, I'm still afraid of high blood sugars BUT I don't let my blood sugars go low --> It's all about balance. Life is awesome. My failure is my success; it is part of me and I'm proud. 4d

hevurguy84 Tried the #animas #inset with my #tslim First time in 13 years I've used a new infusion set, luckily I've got all this pregnant belly real estate to test on. Thankfully, it didn't hurt and I didn't mess anything up! #t1diabetes #pregnantdiabetic 4d
  •   happybabies Looks like the MIO from Medtronic... Hope it works! 4d
  •   hevurguy84 @happybabies it's exactly like the Mio! I had to switch off my Medtronic to the tslim because I use the 180unit reservoir and my tslim is 300. I was changing my sites every other day and it got really old because my insulin needs go up almost every week. They aren't drastic changes, but a 180 reservoir used to last me 3 days, now the 300 lasts that long. 4d
  •   natalie_de_guzman Dang! That's a lot of insulin! 4d
  •   hevurguy84 Your needs can double and triple in pregnancy! @natalie_de_guzman it goes back to normal either during labor or after delivery. 4d
  •   natalie_de_guzman That is amazing. 3d

endthetrendz Wow! Rob and I are entering our final week of MAX30 - already! This is NOT my most glamorous #sweatyselfi ever; I SO wish pics could capture "feelings." I'm so freaking proud of how far Rob and I have come... we've really bonded throughout this workout too. We support each other because a lifestyle change is not an easy road sometimes.

Need some support?? March 9th we're starting our next online support & accountability group with a fitness & nutrition program ANYONE can do.
It won't be easy, but it will be worth it. You'll have our support every step of the way. That's why we keep our groups small; so each member gets the support needed to succeed. ️ Leave your email below OR connect with me (see bio) if you'd like to learn more.
