  •   jaimie_pickford @tooadorable It's been my plan but seeing as the octatrack is nearly the same price I've been torn, thoughts? Or know of any better self contained systems or set ups? 1mon
  •   tooadorable I would probably use a pc or mac and a midi controller, but i know just the person to ask about a self-contained system .... @truecuckoo !! Hellooo 1mon
  •   jaimie_pickford Hahaha I've actually already asked him about the op-1 he mKes great videos! 1mon
  •   tooadorable @jaimie_pickford Yeah love him 1mon
  •   truecuckoo Hellooo! putting he op-1 up against the Octatrack now huh :) @jaimie_pickford The OP-1 is like a rockstar, while the Octatrack is more like an engineer. You can go much, much deeper with the Octatrack, and you can no doubt base a whole show on just the Octatrack, but it's not as immediately rewarding and playable as the marvellous OP-1, and you'll need other sound producing sources to fill up the Octatrack in the first place. 1mon
  •   truecuckoo @tooadorable does it smell? Incredible fart skills there 1mon
  •   tooadorable @truecuckoo praise from a patron saint!! Hope u can smell it from here on Cape Cod! 1mon

heretic_13 By Eric Michael Johnson
A century ago, industrialist like #andrewcarnegie believed that #darwin theories justified an economy of vicious #competition and #inequality They left us with an ideological legacy that says the #corporate #economy, in which #wealth concentrates in the hands of a few, produces the best for #humanity. This was a distortion of Darwin's ideas.
His 1871 book #thedescentofman argued that the human species had succeeded because of traits like sharing and compassion. "Those communities," he wrote, "which included the greatest number of the most #sympathetic members would flourish best, and rear the greatest number of offspring." Darwin was no #economist but #wealthsharing and #cooperation have always looked more consistent with his observations about human survival than the #elitism and #hierarchy that dominates contemporary corporate life.
Nearly 150 years later, modern science has verified Darwin's early insight with direct implications for how we do #business in our #society. New #peerreviewed research by Michael Tomasello, an American psychologist and co-director of the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, has #synthesized three decades of research to develop a comprehensive #evolutionary theory of human cooperation. What can we learn about #sharing as a result?
