Normal House of Hippie 1988
house.of.hippie Getting some raw foods into the diet :) Raw foods add in live, heat sensitive enzymes that are destroyed in the cooking process. An all raw food diet is not encouraged but small amounts with every meal will benefit the digestive process! Those with digestive issues should eat very little raw foods until their gut is strong enough. Wraps: Swiss chard wraps with ham, zucchini, cucumber, avocado, red onion. Dipping sauce: Oil olive, ground mustard, minced garlic, minced shallots, apple cider vinegar, S&P. 41min

elenilasenna It may not be much but I managed to plant these veggies and herbs this year so far on my .04 acre property. Including #delicata #squash and that upper left corner pic is one of four heirloom tomato seedlings that made it through the recent cold weather! I'm planting wherever I can fit them!!! #microgreens #basil #swisschard #parsley #lettuce #garden #organic #veggies #homegarden #excited #moretocome @freelancefarmer thanks for your contributions 2h

beritual Adding a healthy green to a classic herb pesto gives it some extra nutritional oomph. This week we gave ours an Asian twist with red miso paste. It's lighter and with plenty of umami flavor, so you won't miss the cheese

Swiss Chard Miso Pesto
1/4 lb swiss chard leaves, de-stemmed
1/4 cup cilantro
2 cloves garlic
4 tbsp red miso paste
2 tsp rice vinegar

Combine everything in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth

thehonestproject Lately I have been reading a lot about the importance of varying leafy greens when juicing so today I am giving kale a break and going with Swiss chard (which funnily enough a lot of people think is cheese :)) #greenjuice #juicing #greenpower #greenstar #swisschard 6h
  •   thepharmersjournal Why is it important to vary the greens ?! 6h
  •   thehonestproject Hi @thepharmersjournal From what I am reading it seems that leafy greens contain small amounts of different toxins that over time can build up in our systems and therefore it's recommended to vary the greens we eat. I am not sure how 'proven' this it, but thought there is no harm in switching from my usual kale and spinach every few weeks, especially now that kale is out of season 6h
  •   thepharmersjournal @thehonestproject I suppose everything in moderation is ! Can't say I've been overdoing the kale juices as of late anyway xx 6h
  •   thehonestproject Ha ha @thepharmersjournal If eating too much kale is my biggest problem, I am pretty happy 6h
  •   gzel.global I agree with switching up the greens-- variety is good for getting all your vitamins and minerals in all things food! 5h
  •   thehonestproject Big time @gzel.global Plus nice from a taste perspective too! 4h
