cwexplorationphotography An Interview with a Panther
So Lower Panther Creek Falls has been shot A LOT and it's pretty much always shot from the same vantage point on the opposite side of Panther Creek. I decided to go for something different; partly because that water was damn cold and I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me and partly because I wanted to attempt something new. I climbed up and over several logs to find this little area buried between two massive pieces of timber right below the falls. This was really my only clean shot as the spray was crazy intense. I don't know if this comp works or not, but it was something a bit out of the box for the area. Any who hope you enjoy this one!

malloryontravel "There are few things more satisfying than returning to a path thought lost"

This is what we come to #Chefchaouen for; a city which has not only embraced #art but is a living, breathing work of art.

The blue city although predominantly the colour expected, also dazzles with saturated hues everywhere. Splashes of vibrant colour such as these flower pots adorn the streets of the city.

Even the spices seem extra bright in shades of purple, yellow, rust and of course blue, which comes in a multitude of hues.

The people are equally colourful, both culturally and the attire they wear, many locals in Chefchaouen wear amazing technocolour robes.

It feels good to be visiting a place purely by choice, a destination I had targetted and took the opportunity to visit.

Travelling here by train and bus, even arranging my own ticket, and visiting the bus station earlier today. Public transport to Tangiers needing arranging to catch the sleeper train back to Marrakech.

It was not all laid on a plate for me, I had to think for myself and become a traveller once again. The experiences fulltime travel bloggers rarely have to be concerned about anymore.

The journey was uneventful, but it did provide an opportunity to see the culture of #Morocco which is not always evident in the places more popular with tourists.

I have more to thank the blue city for than it's beautiful medina and colourful, bohemian culture.

TIP: Search out the details which make a destination different, special and attempt to tell it's story through images which potray its uniqueness.

malloryontravel "Blue is the colour, Chefchaouen is the name"

The blue city of #Chefchaouen nestled among the Rif Mountains just south of Tangiers has long been on my #travel radar.

Visitors from tourist favourite Marrakech need to be determined to visit. It requires a long drive or an equally long overland journey by train and bus.

My arrival was during the dark hours, so it wasn't possible to see the best of the mountain city. Waking up and soaking up the view over breakfast in the Dar Meziana riad reminded me of the many reasons I will never stop travelling.

Looking out over the rooftops in brilliant whitewash with just the odd glimpse of blue for which the city is famed I couldn't help grinning like a Cheshire cat.

The view also satisfies my fixation with washing lines, as there was a plentiful supply of laundry candy on view. It's nothing kinky or weird just another way to celebrate the beauty of colour. Though it does seem slightly voyeuristic, especially when people are still hanging out their laundry.

Suffice to say, I was itching to get out and explore and although breakfast was substantial verging on huge, I was finished in no time.

TIP: Taking a photograph like this is about being expansive, attempting to demonstrate the sweeping extent of the homes and buildings of the city. The mountains providing context, but careful composition is required to avoid including superfluous content. Look carefully through the viewfinder and 'crop" anything unnecessary to the image.
