studiochina This Australia Day I am deeply grateful I am Australian. Also grateful for all the amazing friends I have made from so many far flung places while I have been in China. 👭So here is picture of my Chinese jade bangle and the beautiful Bolivian bracelet, a gift my new Bolivian friend who I met this trip in Qingdao. I am making an Aussie dinner for our family tonight. Have a great day! 3d

studiochina Just went to the local park. Found this little corridor by the lake. Reminds me of the long corridor at the Summer Palace. Just heard yesterday that there is a luxury hotel at the summer palace. So I am putting that on my list of places to stay at in China. I'm thinking of a luxury China tour next! Just to contrast my backpacking low cost summer holidays back when I was a student in 97!! 7d

studiochina Contrary to popular belief, Cantonese is not that widely spoken. It is the local dialect of Guangdong province and Hong Kong. Mandarin is the standard language that is used at school 🏤on the news and for biz💷 and govt. 7d

studiochina One of my students just wrote this in a a message to me. So happy. Learning Mandarin can be interesting and fun. I get it, if you are just passing through on a trip then you don't need to learn but if you are going to spend serious time in China then learning Mandarin will make it so much more fun and you will achieve more!! Get your brain into action. I love teaching it to adults who have no clue...I will explain the sounds to anyone!! 1w
