jan_fit_foodie Normally, I'd be about to wake up. #Workout. Make myself some #GreenTea and enjoy the calm before the storm that is my #Family. But this morning I feel a bit deflated. I can't exercise, I had a terrible dream, slept horribly. My toe is throbbing. I've put myself on a strict diet as my favorite #Cardio has been put on the back burner for 4 to 6 weeks 😟. But then I realized I didn't sleep well but I woke to see another #MothersDay w ALL of my #kiddos and that's enough to brighten the most dimm day. #Thankful #Blessed

The doc said ice it well. All I wanted to do was eat the ice. I hate icing - it hurts. Meanwhile my toe is broken and displaced. I have to have it #BudyTaped today. Use crutches when possible. And fitted for a boot. Nice huh? Lol I've (in all my #fit yrs), NEVER injured myself while #workingout. And I injure it walking into the gym lol (I smile)... thru #ASTHMA #CFS #PLANTARFASCIITIS #SHINPLINTS #RUNNERSTOE AKA #BLACKTOE (#Runnersproblems). Bad knees from when I spent yrs of doing cardio 7 days a week for 2 hours at a stretch (paying for it now) I say this to say #ThisTooShallPass. I am going to enjoy #MYday as the hubs has promised to spoil me today . I hope that all of you #Moms are treated special today. Which doesn't have to mean a dinner out (I'm housebound), nor expensive gifts. My favorite gifts are the ones handmade by my kids. I have a chest/trunk full of items that I have saved since my oldest (almost 24), was in grade school. Handmade cards, ceramics, etc. I visit this chest several times a yr and it ALWAYS makes my day. Enjoy your day #Mothers biological or otherwise

getfitlikethat A not-so-quick and very painful run this AM!! Time to ice and stretch! I typically suffer from shin splints which for me usually means it's time for new shoes or new insoles. So I'll be purchasing some new insoles today and concentrating on more warm up exercises before my next run! 🏽Any tips and tricks from other runners out there for #shinplints? 4mon

  •   morebaze Pshh there's nothing that helps short of adjusting your whole stride. Rice and fresh shoes like you're doing is prob the right move 4mon
  •   cd_fit Try foam rolling your shins before you run for about 3 minutes along with tapping your feet up and down non stop for 3 minutes. The roll will loosen the tight muscles and the tapping of the feet will warm up the muscles. Then foam roll or use the stick on the shins again right after. You will notice a big improvement after 2 weeks of consistent practice. You need to stretch your upper and lower calves a lot more also. 4mon

  •   jan_fit_foodie @archmobility - thank you. I'll check it out. I don't wear insoles, I've researched techniques (stretching), and, inserts that help. I've yet to try anything at this juncture. I mostly experience this issue whenever I run and, since I practice a myriad of exercises - it isn't a constant problem. I wear #Skechers 5mon

SB - I have Asthma, Eczema #ChronicFatigue #RestlessLegSyndrome. I take 1 medication - the one I'd die without (my inhaler). I'm not saying throw out your meds and treat yourself. I am however saying there are alternatives - Natural ones that aid your body the way nature intended. I also suffer from #shinplints #RunnersToe aka BlackToe #PlantarFasciitis (all due to #running Runners Rock), yet and still I refuse to lay down and make excuses. #YOUAREWHATYOUEAT 🍋🍐
