shelbymoorefit PUSH-UP CHALLENGE😬 Do these walking pushups, as many as you can, and then break. Repeat three times! Make it fun and involve some friends or family members. EVERYONE can benefit from adding some pushups in their life! With these, you're doing a regular pushup (when legs are 12 inches apart), and move to a closer tricep pushup (keeping inside of arms along your sides) when feet are together. shelbymoorefit For all of the guys who believe that doing cardio will take away from their "gains"... Let it be known that muscle loss is usually a direct result of an inadequate supply of calories to sustain aerobic work rather than the aerobics themselves!! Aerobics/cardio is important for EVERYONE. ️So don't ingnore it with fear that you'll lose your precious hard-earned muscle. Any guy (or girl) who loses muscle mass during a period of aerobic training is not eating enough to compensate for calories expended. As long as you're fueling yourself properly (which you should be if you're trying to increase muscle mass), then you're safe and can reap the many benefits of cardio/aerobic exercise!! There are numerous benefits which I've touched on before- fat burning, increased cardiovascular health, and improved recovery abilities- to name a few. Don't neglect your cardio!!  1d

shelbymoorefit YAY YAY YAYI FINALLY AM AN ISSA CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER!! After months of reading, researching, trial&error, studying, I finally took my final exam. Took me over 5 hours to complete the hundreds of questions, case studies and essays, but I'm SO HAPPY ITS FINALLY DONE! I am very excited to start this chapter (officially), continue building my knowledge, and help as many people as I can This really is something I love, and it brings me indescribable joy! shelbymoorefit My own guinea pig! i very firmly believe in not asking others to do something you yourself arent willing to do. So before I would ever recommend a diet to a client, I want to be sure that it can work! So, I learned ISSA's method of calculating ones caloric needs to be healthy and be able to lose weight while not sacrificing lean muscle mass. (This is for folks who are currently doing an exercise program, not for those who are sedentary) My diet was 1part Fat, 2 parts protein, and 3 parts carbohydrates. (more Carbs than I have EVER consumed on a diet, EVER!!! ) I also was drinking my super nutrient-dense Meal shake EVERY morning, which helped me feel energized and gave me the nutrients I wasn't getting via diet. Disclaimer: I'm human and deviated from this diet almost every day hahah (example: getting frozen yogurt with all sorts of toppings, how the heck am I supposed to measure and log that??) Anyways, I tried it for 2 weeks, and actually lost lbs! Short time frame, but the pictures and the difference in my tummy (my trouble area) speak for themselves. Not a single day went by where I felt hungry or deprived. I'm so excited to start making diet plans for others (this is not technically a weightloss plan, it would need to be adjusted to fit that need- this was simply for me to get what I need to maintain my muscles) #longpost #personaltrainer #macros 11h

  •   allyncia Not sure if I'm resting when I'm sitting still but brainstorming all that I can do so much that I'm freezing my to-do list today. My mind is replaying "What more, however humbling, can I possibly do to bridge the gap to complete peace of mind so that I can be successful in the steep achievements I am shooting for this month?" It is important not to focus on the height of the hill or the distance of a run but to focus on what is immediately required of me. I still want to go for a run and lift like crazy yet I know I am so fatigued and it is rest and cooking day. Excited about the competition and seeing every detail, thanks and delivery of my best both at work, the gym and to the defeating all other challenges! All I know is that I can do it and everything done well requires a proper rest. So back to my focus, and thank you all and here we go yo! 33min

jw_journey This weekend has NOT been #whole30 or full of very many #healthychoices with food BUT lots of activity and non-stop action despite cold temps and craptons of snow. During the blizzard today was BUSY, busy getting the kiddos in and out of ski clothes multiple times, laundry/laundry/laundry, shoveling, sledding, cooking, cleaning and then a dance party with our new Apple TV. nany_haydee Here are a few tips to enjoy the Super Bowl without over indulging and avoid that bloated feeling over the next few days.

The best seat in the house is not front-and-center if there is a table filled with food within arms reach. Stake out a seat near the game but away from the junk.

Watch the game (and the commercials!). Talk to your friends. Cheer for your team. Heckle the other team. The more involved you are in the real action, the less likely you’ll be to absentmindedly fill your face.

Beer will be flowing. Have a plan for how many you’re going to drink before you start. Slow your intake, and ward off a Monday morning hangover by drinking a tall glass of water between each beer.
