_grand_prophet by @revealed_truth "Virtually everyone has a cell phone nowadays; but what's becoming scary is the number of people who have developed a psychological attachment to their phones.

From Business Insider - "It's called "nomophobia" (short for no-mobile-phone phobia), and psychologists say that it's affecting more and more young people." Symptoms include feelings of panic or desperation when separated from your smartphone, not being able to focus on conversations or work, and constantly checking phones for notifications. Some people may think their phone is ringing when it's not, a condition named cellphone vibration syndromethat researchers say could be a sign of a more serious technology addiction.

According to Dr. David Greenfield, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, an attachment to your smartphone is similar to other addictions in that it involves a dysregulation of dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that regulates the brain's reward center, meaning that it motivates people to do things they think they will be rewarded for doing. . . "Every time you get a notification from your phone, there's a little elevation in dopamine that says you might have something that's compelling, whether that's a text message from someone you like, an email, or anything," Greenfield said to Business Insider. "The thing is you don't know what it's going to be or when you're going to get it, and that's what compels the brain to keep checking. It's like the world's smallest slot machine." So I end this by saying - make sure you and your kids take extended breaks from technology FREQUENTLY. I can say from personal experience that it feels AWESOME to break yourself free from the chains of your cell phone on a regular basis. Relax. Enjoy some peace. Enjoy the people around you. Take a deep breath. And slow down. We don't NEED our phones. We NEED peace of mind." via @PhotoRepost_app

judoprepper "War, it will be seen, not only accomplishes the necessary destruction, but accomplishes it in a psychologically acceptable way. In principle it would be quite simple to waste the surplus labour of the world by building temples and pyramids, by digging holes and filling them up again, or even by producing vast quantities of goods and then setting fire to them. But this would provide only the economic and not the emotional basis for a hierarchical society." -1984 30min

freeconservative Rape is a rapist's fault, but there are behaviors that can be more dangerous than others. This isn "victim blaming" it's common sense! What are your thoughts?

  •   river_rat_215 Disclaimer: I'm by no means a feminist. I can't get on board with anything that says something a woman did resulted in her rape. It's wrong. The bastard was gonna rape that woman regardless of what she was wearing. 19min
  •   freeconservative That's what I just said. @river_rat_215 but there are dangerous behaviors that can cause you to be targeted it's not victim blaming it's common sense. Common sense tells you not to do drugs: common sense should say this @river_rat_215 18min
  •   bre_b14 Well no girl needs to dress with there butt and other stuff hanging out of there clothes!!! Its disgusting 17min
  •   american_exceptionalism Agree 100% 17min
  •   margaretnotmaggie True. It's not the victim's fault, but it's important to use common sense. As a teenage girl, I know that it would be stupid to go to a bad part of Atlanta at one in the morning dressed like a hooker. If I was raped, it wouldn't be my fault, but it also wouldn't be a surprise. 4min

joetheanimal Voted for my dad today! Incredibly proud to have him as my father. The awesome thing in our family though is that no matter how proud you are of somebody for something like this, the other three Fleschers are just as proud of you for something else. #thankful #familyfirst #voteforjoe #republican 1h

prolifechristian Yesterday Sandra Cano, Doe of the #SCOTUS case Doe vs. Bolton (Roe vs. Wade's companion case), passed away. She was a very loving pro-life woman all her life. The feminist and strong pro-choice attorney, Margie Hames, lied to Sandra. She thought the case was along the lines of equal pay for equal work and loved the idea. She said later in her life that she had no idea the case had anything to do with abortion throughout all nine months of pregnancy. She also never had an abortion and gave put her 100% healthy daughter up for adoption (remember the feminist lawyer argued that her pregnancy was life threatening). Norma McCorvey, Roe in Roe vs. Wade, has a similar story. The two cases that legalized abortion were made possible by pro-choice attorneys that lied to and manipulated their more vulnerable sisters. Finally neither Norma or Sandra ever had an abortion. May Sandra Cano rest in peace. 1h

  •   diva_divi I agree with you about Egalitarian society, but what you want is in feminism; the social, economical and political equality of both sexes. So you saying that you're "antifeminist" is contradictory to your statement about an egalitarian society. 33min
  •   antifeministgirl @diva_divi no. It absolutely is not in feminism. It's in its definition. 19min

  •   erin_marie1469 All drugs(except for the use of medical) should be illegal 1.) it's bad for you 2.) why would anyone want to abuse drugs? it's wrong. 56min
  •   erin_marie1469 Not to mention the fact that drugs are extremely dangerous. It's dangerous for so many reasons like if someone was under the influence and tried to operate a car or vehicle? It's also dangerous to themselves -what they put into there body-and what they do while abusing the drugs , it should be illegal because it's an endangerment. 47min
  •   ronin_fitness No drug law has ever stopped anyone from doing drugs. Meth, heroin, whatever. @conservative_3_massachusetts how can you say you are for the land of liberty but then you say you want to "require" people for doing things that are really none of your business. If you aren't harming anyone else's body or property there is no crime and no need for the state to stick it's head in your life. 42min
  •   conservative_3_massachusetts @ronin_fitness I say keep drugs illegal. I know law hasn't stopped anybody, jailtime is not effective. I just don't think we should let people treat their bodies like this. It isnt healthy. They need help. And when it comes down to that, sitting in a 6 by 6 cinderblock room isnt going to solve that. They should be required to have x-amount of hours of drug re-education or x-amount of hours of rehab and hopefully help them sober up. The effects of the drug is what people are more worried about like @erin_marie1469 said. The amount of car accidents in Colorado have skyrocketed over the past 10 months. Cause of drugs. Those are the things we are worried about. 26min
  •   sotoismaximas It's unfortunate that you would think it safe to use the state to suppress liberty. I live in Colorado where you can buy marijuana as easily and legally as you can poison yourself with alcohol. I don't drink or smoke marijuana but I'd never want the government to ban them. I dont want a nanny state. The argument you make to have drug prohibition others use to ban firearms. "Guns kill people" "Why would you need an AR-15?" "Why you need a 30 round magazines?" Government is force and when we ask government to intervene then liberty suffers. If you think drugs are sin then find a way to help people who struggle with addiction. Private non profits and church based initiatives where addicts can voluntarily seek help is better than any means of force. Addiction is a personal issue and requires no government edicts. 23min
  •   sotoismaximas So on that basis you think the government should once again reinstate alcohol prohibition? It took a Constitutional amendment to undue the horrors of prohibition. Guns are also very dangerous. Should we ban those too? @erin_marie1469 15min
  •   sotoismaximas BTW, violent crime is down 11% in Colorado since Marijuana was decriminalized by the voters. Less rape, less domestic violence, less murders and more tax money for schools and parks 11min
  •   ronin_fitness Where's the proof about the car accident thing? Only the mainstream media reports such ludicrous Obama propaganda. The main reason weed is illegal has nothing to do with it be dangerous or unhealthy. It's all about MONEY. This might be a bit shocking to hear...but the government does not care about you. 10min
