monicahmichelle "On September 11, 2001, nineteen terrorists who were members of al-Qaeda, an Islamist extremist network, hijacked four commercial airplanes. In a coordinated attack, the hijackers intentionally flew two of the planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, and a third into the Pentagon. Learning about the other hijackings, passengers and crew members on the fourth plane launched a counterattack, spurring the hijacker pilot to crash the plane into a field in Pennsylvania. Nearly 3,000 people were killed on that day, the single largest loss of life resulting from a foreign attack on American soil." This is the only picture I could take in this museum... I'm a changed person just by reading all the quotes on the walls and hearing the voicemails individuals received that day. The videos of people jumping out of the building committing suicide because they rather fall then burn to their death. Breaks my heart. The last room I walked to got me the most, I read "She had a business suit on, her hair all askew. This woman stood there for what seemed like minutes and then she held down her skirt and jumped off the ledge. I thought, how human, how modest, to hold down her skirt before she jumped. I couldn't look anymore.” That's the last thing I read, my mind is no longer the same. May we never forget this event. Rest in peace to all who were forced to leave the life they had because of someone else's selfish desire and beliefs. #Remembering911 #NewYork 2w

littlelettering Today in my American Literature module we discussed post-9/11 literature and I took in this anthology of photographs my parents have; it was certainly a sad and harrowing morning and I felt it was necessary to spend this afternoon watching 'United 93' 1mon

viperlovr This is for #clairestelle8april "cities". always has a special place in my ️. Having worked in the WTC, it still hurts to see a pic of it. Hand-painting it here brought back both happy and sad memories but it also reminds me of how a diverse city came together to help anyone in need 🏿🏻🏿🏻⛑🚔🚍 regardless of their race and religion. "We will never forget..." In memory of the lives cut short during and post 9/11/2001 🏻😇 #remembering911. #viperlovrnailart #nygiantsfan 1mon

josephromanoffakajojo Almost every single day I have passed by this on my way home and I am just noticing this now. This is really sweet and it's located in the Jewish neighborhood in my area known as Borough Park, Brooklyn. #911 #remembering911 #usa #rip #brooklyn #boroughpark #nyc #mural #art 1mon

beatnikkers Right next to #groundzero you see and #oldchurch and steeple with an old creepy fence and historic #graveyard behind it walls. To see this at night is unreal. It's dark yet beautiful at the same time. The new #freedomtower soaring above it. I felt speechless and so small amongst its grandeur. The second tower is already almost done. It's truly an #eerie feeling. The magnitude and sheer height of these buildings, I can only imaging the terror on that awful day #remembering911 #newyorkcity 1mon
