  •   sickamor_style @alex_igarcia nah I'm not and the reason why nas is still making music that's more appealing to underground hip hop is because yea those albums are good sad you didn't include lost tapes but again in comparison jays better lol if Jay had stopped making music after the black album hed still have more raw hip hop than nas. Not only that but nas is younger than Jay obviously the point of interest shifts. As for emceeing goes yes it does prove who's better if you listen to the 96 corner and nas freestyle you will be disappointed in nas freestyle ability on the other hand listening to Jay z and big l freestyle is one of the illest freestyle sessions ever...and those artist don't have the body of work to even put up an argument lmao. And fyi Jay still spits mad heat on his feature tracks wit Rick Ross, if you were a fan of Jay you'd know he was about money ever since in my lifetime.... He's pleasing corporations as well as him self lol 10h
  •   sickamor_style Cormega not corner lol @alex_igarcia 10h
  •   virgochild71 Sorry to say this but as an actual lyricist Nas shades Jay Z but not by much . But for body of work Jay Z albums stand up better than Nas . Dont get me wrong big fan of both and have all the albums . But in my opinion Takeover /Ether beef / battle is simply this Jay won fellas .....forget the diss on Mobb Deep etc.... What Jay said about Nas was imo keeping it 100 . Nas was sadly wasting his talent on so so tracks on club happy songs a few of Nas albums were stale one or two tracks and the rest being well ok but the general feel for me was " Is this the kid who blew my mind with Illmatic and dominated tracks like Back To The Grill Again , Live At The Bbq??? " to name just 2 that pop up in my mind showing my age haha. So my point is this after Takeover there was a clear change in Nas albums when started banging hard regardless of Ether Jay won this debate . He had the man on his books for goodness sakes. 9h
  •   alex_igarcia @sickamor_style ... I respect your rebuttle. To each his own. The only issue I have with that statement tho is mentioning "underground" hip hop. We can't put hip hop in a box like that. I know I mentioned "radio" but for the fact that only certain artists spins. Underground is a label for artists not on the radio. Good hip hop is good hip hop and sadly there are emcees currently better than Nas and Jay not getting shine 9h
  •   alex_igarcia @virgochild71 ... I agree his beat selection has been suspect post stillmatic and godxson albums but lyrical content is more potent than Jay. Don't forget NaS has a collab album coming out with Primo and one supposedly with Common in the future. And he recently made a track with a Dilla beat. He's just fulfilling his current deal than going independent to make music he knows his fans want unlike Jay who lost a lot of fans just to gain a new fanbase 8h

  •   garushanus I will start by saying your top 5 rappers will hail from the big apple without question . I say top 10 are from ny and the rest you can spread out . With that being said before we started hearing biggie being the greatest of all time which i thought was just ridiculous! ! Unfortunately that was puffy promotion. Prior to that type of talk all heads would say the god rakim had too had been the best mc up to that point when jay makes this statement. I mean it was jays 2 nd album !! In all actuality nas hadnt put out his 2nd album and neither had biggie . No one mentioned mr james todd smith , i mean LL was a kid and he put rap in a choke hold at 17 !! And is a known to be lyrical , a battle rapper , first cat to make hits for the ladies and made a lot of money in the game and would destroy 80% of the rappers out today . Krs 1 , my man kool g rap , of course the big daddy kane . My point is that statement was clever ,egotistical and brilliant because that is who looked like was about too take the game to another level . I liked biggie but too say he was the best and only put out 2 albums and was only alive on one and was not around for the 2nd one , I cant give him that . Didnt put in enough work . We can argue about big pun , not enough work !! Big L , not enough work and i think he was iller than biggie . Before we make a "mt rushmore " of rappers it has to be a criterior . We just cant say cause he was hot before he died and his founder propped him up and said he was the greatest that doesnt work !!! Plus greatest of all time is a bit much considering time is still going on and new rappers are coming out everyday . Case and point everybody says LeBron has to catch mj of winning 6 championships. Last i checked mj fell 7 short of bill russell who won 13 now whos the greatest of all time ? So the criterior is 13 not 6 . So you need more than 2 albums and a hype machine . 6h
  •   garushanus My mistake bill russell won 11 rings , mj still 5 short . 5h
