the_la_king In light of the Ray Rice tragedy, I felt compelled to share this. A refreshing look at men's roles in violence against women. Let's raise our boys to not be abusers rather than our daughters to avoid becoming victims. It could be your sister, your mom, your girlfriend too. As men, we have agency in this whole situation, let's not waste it or abuse it! #MenCanBeFeministsToo #RealMenDontHitWomen #RealMenDontRape #PatriarchyIsNotSexy #EqualityIsTheNewSexy 7d
  •   kayvan2sfo Love the idea but don't you think some of these are a bit too sarcastic or humorous? Such as handing over a whistle? 7d
  •   the_la_king @kayvan2sfo agreed. I took it to be poking fun at how ridiculous the narrative is to simply tell women "don't be victimized" while ignoring the agency of men. Anything that works to challenge people's way of thinking is not "too" sarcastic or humorous in my opinion 7d
  •   kayvan2sfo @the_la_king yea, the goal is definitely to shift the blame -- correctly -- away from the victims. I'm unsure whether the humor can be seen as trivializing it. If it works to change the mindset, then it's a good start. But it definitely shouldn't be the standard. 7d
  •   mzchuang7 The goal of the original poster (the one your post is trying to satirize) was to offer potential victims tips - because a victim can't control a rapist, she has to control a situation the best she can. When taken out of context- like what you're doing here, it's offensive. 7d
  •   the_la_king @mzchuang7 I'm confused. How is my post attempting to satirize the poster? I'm simply reposting the poster. The whole point is to stop blaming women for not protecting themselves from attack and instead change the narrative to stopping men from attacking in the first place 7d
  •   the_la_king @mzchuang7 the poster is not offering "victims tips," it's saying stop focusing on the victim and instead prevent attackers. It's trying to get people to realize being raped is not a woman's fault, it's the rapist's fault 7d
  •   the_la_king @mzchuang7 as it says on their rape prevention website, this isn't satire but rather "We hope this will help to reverse the popular trend of focusing rape prevention messages on women and instead transfer these towards more appropriate recipients - potential perpetrators" 7d

  •   missalyssa427 There's rape in the gay community as well. But this is a fair point. 1w
  •   violettbunny Just like there are females who rape guys aswell but no one ever brings it up. Rape just happens to everyone. 1w
  •   haleighs_brain Rape happens to everyone, but the point of this picture is to say that people (ADULTS) need to stop using lack of self control as an excuse for why they raped someone. 1w
  •   sharentmichelle I really hate when people go onto posts like this and write ''well men are raped too and no one talks about that''... Posts like this don't say that men aren't raped they are simply talking about one part of the issue and I never see those people talking about men's issues regarding rape unless it's to point out that men get raped too when someone posts about a woman's issue. If you don't think it's talked about then talk about it yo, make it your issue. End rant >.> sorry Haleigh for the rant in your post lol 7d

Dear Survivor, I know that this may be a sensitive subject for you, and all I have is My Word, but I can assure you that this is done strictly from my heart to help heal you. Let me start off by saying I Love You; And no person on earth should have to go through the experience in which you have. But if no one ever really stands up, the cycle will continue. So I decided to STAND UP, in hopes that you would join me. According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse, & Incest National Network) 1 out of 6 American Women have been a victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Other statistics show that more than half, 60% of all Black Women, are raped before the age of 18. These numbers are staggering alone. But when you add the years of the wound before any healing begins, this becomes an epidemic of enormous proportions. Some women never heal, especially in the Black Communities. Once the words counseling, therapist, psychiatrist, etc.. are mentioned, we immediately go into a shell.
It's time to give a Voice to the Voiceless. It's time to help heal these wounds, and I have just the plan to do it. Music is the closest thing to Spirituality, and should be made to Heal not kill. So I wrote a song for all the women who have been a victim of rape, to let them know I care. Let them know that I'm there. Let them know that what happened is not ok!

I would like to start this campaign off by hearing from YOU! If you have been a victim of this senseless act and would like to share your story through a video I would love to hear from you. DM or email bookingtheking@gmail.com for more info.

We can sit back and wait for change to come, or we can be that change. The choice is OURS!! - KANG #HealOurQueens #AntiRape #PauseNetwork #1UpGang #HebrewWarMachine #istandwithjada #WAKEUPAMERICA #WakeUpWorld

crownmekingfoolyae #VICTIMBLAMING #RP from @feminist.girl >> " I don't even understand why victim-blaming exists! I hate it so much
The victim goes through so much without people saying they were "asking for it" or "they deserved it". If you read the comments on articles there are always people saying she shouldn't have gotten drunk, shouldn't have worn that, shouldn't have done this or that. I think people only victim blam because they want to believe the victim did something wrong because as long as they don't do what the victim did they won't get raped. Just look at Jada. She was drugged, undressed and raped at a party and there are people saying she shouldn't have gone to the party and shouldn't have gotten drunk. If she was drugged it still would have happened even if she was drinking a soft drink "

  •   shaynaballou Right on...we are way to desensitized to rape as a culture; as women we are essentially taught to expect being violated sexually at some point in our lives. I can't even get with movies with rape scenes in them...it normalizes a gruesome offense that happens way too often and we as women can't even be sexually liberated people... who can be proud of our bodies & womanness because we are so busy trying to "protect" it or defend not being a "hoe" just to get a little R.e.s.p.e.c.t. 1w
