For many of us, Xmas time can be bitter sweet with regards to the excitement of celebrations and of course food! Whatever it is that you eat, eat with compassion towards yourself and fully be present and mindful. This is where the balance of life comes into play. In fact, the research shows that when we go into the holidays with "I am" statements rather than "I shouldn't" or "I won't statements, we are more successful in eating portion sizes that are nourishing rather than taxing on the body. This is because the brain does not in a state of stress or fight or flight, comprehend or listen to statements of "I'm not going to eat any Xmas treats" for instance. So set yourself up with affirming "I am" statements such as "I am going to enjoy a treat tonight" or "I am going to indulge on some raw chocolate and candy-cane Xmas patties" hahah and when you fully chew and experience the pleasure of it without shame (and that my friends is key), than you will, over the holidays, consume enough to satisfy :). Xmas mantra = No shaming allowed!!! Only compassion! .. Oh and ps the cocoa in this recipe has shown to contain properties that ignite dopamine - our mood boosting, motivating and feel good neurotransmitter . So prepare for a very happy holiday!!!
