kenyuel I did not know who Marc Alan Lee was when I recently took this photograph at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, San Diego. But I soon would learn Lee was a strong patriot, fierce warrior, and loving husband. He was an American Hero of magnitude, and for that he should always be remembered.

Marc Alan Lee, 28 yrs old, was a United States Navy SEAL, assigned to Seal Team 3 at Coronado Naval Base Ca. He was the first SEAL to lose his life in Operation Iraqi Freedom on August 2, 2006 when he was killed in a fierce firefight while on patrol against insurgents in Ramadi. Lee was posthumously awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Valor and the Purple Heart.[1][2] On March 20, 2013, the Marc A. Lee Training Center building was dedicated at the Naval Amphibious Base Coronado. (Source Wikipedia)
Lee was also featured in the movie American Sniper, he was a teammate of Chris Kyle and his death was graphically portrayed in the movie.

historicalpast 6 years ago today on May 27, 2010, the world lost a brave soul and a heroic soldier. U.S. Marine Corporal Jacob C. Leicht was counted as the 1,000th United States servicemember Killed in Action during Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
Jacob grew up in my hometown, was a next-door neighbor, and he and his family our dear friends. Jacob was born on the 4th of July and as his older brother Jonathan said, "He wanted to be a soldier from the moment he could speak." Jacob was offered a full Navy ROTC scholarship for college but he turned it down to instead enlist into the Marine Corps. He was deployed to Iraq in 2007 but had been there only a few short weeks when he drove over to 500 pound IEDs buried beneath the road. The resulting blast snapped Jacob's tibia and fibula and his recovery was an agonizing two years of recovery. But even after suffering such a terrible wound, Jacob was not finished serving his country. He launched a campaign from his hospital room, asking for a return to the front lines. After three years of surgery and therapy, he was finally able to serve again. Jacob's wish was granted and he was deployed for the second time, this time, Afghanistan. But he was there for only a few months when he was killed in action by yet another roadside bomb.
Jacob died on May 27, three days before Memorial Day, while in the service of his country. My outlook on Memorial Day was forever changed in 2010, for Jacob truly embodied the words of Thucydides that "The bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding, go out to meet it." Jacob's story reminds us all of TRUE sacrifice. Freedom is not free.
RIP Jacob - you are NEVER forgotten. Semperfi!

mtmountainman88 Memorial Day weekend isn't just another long weekend. Damn, what I wouldn't give to have another day with this guy. He was one of the coolest dudes I've ever met. Kinda crazy how the ones that make the ultimate sacrifice seem to be the cream of the crop. My friend, my brother, Jacob Molina made the ultimate sacrifice almost 5 years ago so that we can live the American Dream. He's truly one of the real heroes. Don't forget that this isn't just a long weekend; it's a weekend to remember the ones that paid the price. We all have our own ways of remembering and honoring fallen warriors. Me, I'll be drinking his favorite beer and thinking about all the good times, as well as the bad. Because the bad times only brought us closer together. I wear that bracelet everyday in remembrance. Parents, teach your children, and honor the fallen. Never forgotten. 5h

ryan2pa2atx Reason WE HAVE this holiday ... Reason I fought for this great country over others and my family members ... #Memorial Day, is a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30 but now officially observed on the last Monday in May.#rememberwhen #remember #allgavesome #allgavesomesomegaveall #military #friends #heart #purpleheart #SERVICE #TRULY #menandwomen #BRAVE #Persevere #neverforget #NEVER #FOREVER #ARMY #BRAVE #soldiers 6h

Tq very much. Segala kekurangan adalah hasil kelemahan saya sendir. Dan segala yg baik tu datangnya dari Allah SWT.
Mudah2an diberi kesempatan bertemu Ramadhan. Murahkan lah rezeki sahabat2 saya yang bekerja hari sabtu macam saya. Amin.. We are strong.
