nibblinggypsy Dinner tonight -- Colombian Style Chicken Soup (Ajiaco) courtesy of @greghudson. The perfect thing for a ridiculously cold night like tonight. The boy can cook! 2d

nibblinggypsy Our Sunday day trip lead us to make a pit stop to finally get a taste of those famous New Haven Apizzas. Here the Italian Bomb at Modern Apizza--Sausage, Bacon, Pepperoni, Mushroom, Onion, Pepper & Garlic. 2d
  •   juliacwells You're going to make @davidmoran very jealous. 2d
  •   juliacwells He swears by the artichoke and olive 2d
  •   davidmoran I do. All the way. Nice job choosing Modern 2d
  •   nibblinggypsy @juliacwells @davidmoran artichoke and olive sounds awesome-- and I'm glad my informant passes muster 2d
  •   davidmoran If you go again, don't tell anyone I said this because it's not traditional new Haven, but get BAR's mashed potato and bacon. It's the second best after modern artichoke and Olive 2d
  •   nibblinggypsy @davidmoran interesting - that's the second shout out Bar's gotten 2d
  •   davidmoran To be clear: Modern Apizza is where locals go because they know best. BAR is for entitled Ivy Leaguers. That said, their pizza is pretty great and given they've been around over 15 years we can reluctantly agree the newcomer is pretty legit. Pepe's is obviously the icon, but I think it's for tourists and not as good as either of the others. 2d

nibblinggypsy Our office is moving in a few weeks and Kalustyan's is probably the #1 thing I'll miss from this neighborhood - the really nice guys at the lunch counter that always offer a sample or 2 or 3, the million and 1 things to try, and the sweets counter full of treats. 6d
