reevebetweenthelines My neurosurgeon is hotter than your neurosurgeon! Meet Dr. Eric Peterson of the University of Miami! Doesn't he look like someone straight out of Grey's Anatomy?!! He used to work in Seattle too, how funny is that?! Surprisingly, he does NOT have a God complex! Very nice guy! Listened, answered questions, wasn't rushing off, super cool. Almost makes you wish you had a brain tumor, doesn't he? Before you start trying to grow one, he was wearing a wedding ring, sorry. Anyway, Dr. McDreamy here (Or should we call him McSteamy?) said my tumor is small and not pressing on my optic nerve, which is good. However, it might be secreting hormones. If so, it has to come out. If not, we re-do the MRI in 2 months and check for growth. Rinse and repeat every several months to monitor. If it keeps growing, it comes out. Soooo, now I go to an endocrinologist to have every test under the sun done to see if it's a secreting pituitary tumor, and also what mischief the tumor on my adrenal gland is up to. Oh, McDreamy/McSteamy (let's take a vote!) also wants new tests regarding the brain hemorrhage (see my "7 Years Ago" post) to make sure all is well. Shew! Sorry for the long post. Thank you all SO MUCH for each and every "like," comment, DM, and show of support you have given!!! You all are THE BEST and it means the world to me to have you with me on this journey!! #neurosurgeon #braintumor #pituitary #notsobad 1d

chelseaeatshealthy @dr.hartman said this is going to change my life! I suffer from hypothyroidism and adrenal burnout from years of not getting enough sleep and stress. Even though for the last year and a half I've been sleeping more, working out 4-5 days a week, and I eat healthy I can't lose weight! It's driving me crazy. People often ask me why I don't take a medication for it and it's simply because I don't want to. I don't want to deal with any possible side effects and I don't want this dang disease anymore either! I want it gone. So I'm excited to try this. I've heard good things, I'm three days in, and I'm definitely noticing something in the way I feel. This could be it!!! Fingers crossed. Now only if it could make me grow taller too!!! #hypthyroidism #thyroidproblems #tiredallthetime #cantloseweight #herbalremedy #naturalhealing #youngevity #adrenalburnout #hypothalamus #pituitary #healme #strongtonic #naturalmedicine #goodherbs #supplement #herbalsupplement 1d

reevebetweenthelines Today I slept a lot, fatigue was a killer. So far I'm 0-2 on Fibro meds and 0-1 on CFS meds. Side effects and I did not get along. Oh well. We keep searching right? I did get outside for a few minutes before sunset to enjoy our palm tress, so that was nice! Tomorrow I see a neurosurgeon to find out if this pituitary tumor could be a contributing factor and if it needs to come out regardless. If you wouldn't mind sending along any prayers, positive thoughts, healing energy, good juju, etc., it would be much appreciated!! Wishing everyone restful sleep and peaceful dreams! #palmtrees #pituitary #prayers #positivity #thingsthatstartwithp 2d

mamazou85 Call me crazy (because I am) but I've just signed up for a half marathon in September.
For those of you who don't know me - I suffer from a benign brain tumor which causes me to have headaches 24/7. Whilst it was operated on a few years ago its back on the rise! I am running to help raise awareness to Pituitary issues and the importance of a Prolactin gland.
I am not a runner but am committed to my mission. I need your help, support and charity to help drive me across the finish line. Thank you!! Xx

Ok, we have answers for our lovely #MuseumWeek askers! First, @virtuouscourtesan, given the museum's history with collections first arriving in 1897 and then the accession system beginning in 1926, this group of items is not easy to search through. They are organized by year received, and numbered as part of the total intake. Finding which item is oldest requires going through all of the accession books from 1926 to now. So, instead @theredheartmethod, I found a small leaded shut glass bottle, likely from the early 1800s, with a handwritten label and method of preparation. It's coal tar, intended to be heated in alcohol. And @brandocalrissian83, we picked a few interesting ones -- Cleveland's effervescent #hepatic salts as a laxative, bright pink #pituitary pills, and beautifully packaged #ampoules of biniodide of mercury. 4d

theredheartmethod This is why I love following the @dittrickmuseum. They take photos of their amazing collection and share it with people like me who die over all the old bottles! #Repost @dittrickmuseum with @repostapp.

  •   mrs.smilez My 52 year old Uncle has been battling #traumaticBrainInjury #dementia for the past 3 years due to so many concussions playing football in high school. He passed away on Saturday after a very long battle of fighting to stay alive. His heart was not ready to go, but his brain had nothing left to give. He played football, coached football, slept and dreamt about football! It is #traumaticBrainInjuryAwarenessMonth and I am asking everyone to keep Uncle Tony in their thoughts and prayers, he passed because he gave his all to what he loved and now we are seeing the heartbreaking consequences. I have a gofundme account to help pay for memorial services which will on Thursday. I am honored to say how kind everyone has been in helping me reach my goal! Now I will try to go above and beyond because I know my uncle deserves to be remembered for the football fanatic he was! Thank you everyone for your support. http://www.gofundme.com/DementiaSucks 4d
  •   metabolic_mike Thanks for sharing @mrs.smilez. Sorry to hear about your uncle. 4d
