guillermoelrio Het was erg warm vandaag in Juneau, Alaska! #peakflow #beatiful #waterfall #juneau #alaska #glacier #globalwarming 4d

hannushanna Hello old friend PEF! Två veckor till astmakontroll, dags att mäta hur mycket under normalnivå jag är. Och se hur mycket pollennivåerna påverkar. #peakflow #astma 2w

straightlinept My latest investment.
How many ways do you monitor your progress?
Don't just go by 'weight' on the scales.
My clients get weighed, % body fat, peak flow and measurements taken.
If they want to, of course.
This way, we can track their progress throughout.
Always seek improvement and don't JUST focus on the scales!

ashleewellsjaxn Oh lungs. 10 years ago while pregnant with Xavier I went off all the asthma meds I'd been on for the bulk of my life. Shots, steroids, pills no more - I was ready to put hospitalizations and rescue meds behind me. An all natural mama now. My hormones would shift, my lungs would heal, I'd see naturopaths, supplement, change my diet- I'd get better right? Because I decided? Things have gone well in that I've only had to use my rescue inhaler intermittently over the years, mostly when under high stress or intensely cycling (my pedicab days included lots of puffs) but I haven't had an attack, haven't been hospitalized - that's good right? I don't know how many people I have told this tale of self healing over the years except now I'm here to tell you I was simply telling myself lies. In the midst of my mission to overcome PTSD and take back my comfort in my health that was shattered during my girls' pregnancy, I've been doing something I avoided for years - going to the doctor. For the first time in 10 years I had my lungs checked, I admitted I have asthma and what I learned was scary. Sure I've been "okay" but my lung function is currently 50%. Fifty percent. Half of what it should be. Every day of my crazy busy, active life - for years - I've spent deprived of oxygen. Yikes. So back on the steroids, allergy reducers, rescue inhalers and daily peak flow checks. Begrudgingly but necessary. In just a handful of days I feel stronger, I've measured improvement, I can breathe in a way I didn't know I was missing but my body clearly did. Making this decision, particularly while breastfeeding did not come lightly but it was easy to chose me for a moment, for the rest of my life. Please don't forget to take a moment out of taking care of everyone else to take care of yourselves too, friends. #asthma #awakenings #peakflow 2w
  •   jumpdancelove I'm so glad you got yourself checked out and on the meds your body needs 2w
  •   ktb92003 The best example we can be for our families and friends is to take care of ourselves. It's so hard but so worth it. I live with a chronic illness and every day is a struggle. My prayers for healing to you! 2w
  •   angela_giff Ugg. I've been battling getting the steroid inhaler again. I just don't want it and I've 'survived' without it for a couple years now. But really I do need it. Thanks for the push. 2w
  •   maquelw I am so proud of you! 2w
  •   raeham87 What a relief it must be to be able to take a full, deep breath again. There's nothing wrong with natural remedies and trying to find what works for each person's body, but sometimes modern medicine really is the right solution. I'm glad that you are finding healing for yourself in being able to go back to doctors even with PTSD. Thank you as always for being open about your whole journey, ups and downs. 2w
  •   caroljeanius So proud of you-- all of this! Cheers to deep breaths!! 2w

jeffcarter21 Same spot 7hrs later, now packed with riders waiting of Mayor Celia Wade-Brown to cut the ribbon to open #peakflow. She rode the trail too, did some skids, took a tumble and blasted out the exit with a massive grin! How many cities have Mayors this cool? #Wellington does 3w

hayleydwebley I decided to start a fitness programme, tailored it to my own goals and tracked the progress over 8 weeks. I personally don't see much difference in the way I look but nevermind these things take time. My bmi has went down from a healthy 23.8 to a healthy 22.1, I've lost 10lbs and my personal favourite - my peak flow reading has improved! Exercise is definitely helping improve my lung capacity and taking my medicine regularly is keeping my asthma under control :)
