bbcx10 So many people get caught up in looking "show" ready year round. I was one of those people. I've learned that it's all about balance. I used to beat myself up for eating anything that wasn't on my plan. After my June show I told myself that I had to find a balance and be happy with my off season body before I Stepped on stage Again. I still have my days where it's hard but I'm lifting heavier than I ever have, and I'm able to eat froyooo and not be upset with myself! I'm able to be 100% honest w my coach everyday when she checks in with me and she reminds me how important our off season body is! I can't wait to see the package I bring to the stage in April 20h

jm_p88 This was a few days ago. I felt like crap on and off for 3 days. Didn't even go to the gym on Sunday, which worked out because it allowed me to start a 3/1/2/1 schedule. But Tuesday I stayed home and worked and when I went to the gym that night I felt pretty good. My plan was to have a light week, I guess a "#deload" week. Just do a lot of reps at lower weight. But as I was #deadlifting the weight felt pretty good so I just kept increasing. I stopped here because I didn't want to over-do it since I was still a little sick. But all in all pretty good session. Did some bench and worked up to a 90%'ish 1 rep max. My plan is to deadlift and bench 2-3 times a week. I need to get my weight up because it's super weak right now. So we'll see what happens after a few months of this. 21h

fitfreakzbox Lift heavy. Your body will thank you ! Ladies, don't be afraid of the weights. You are not going to get big and bulky, your body does not produce enough testosterone to get overly large muscles. One thing that I'm sure many people at the gym see is people lifting too heavy, possibly trying to be the alpha or trying to impress people. You are doing it for you, no one else. Yes lifting heavy will help you grow and progress but not as much as you would like to if you have bad form. Lifting with time under tension using lighter weight is much more beneficial and rewarding than lifting heavy with bad form.
