riosstrength Offal is becoming a staple in my meals because of the many nutrients they have. In this meal, I seared a beef heart stake in tumeric and truffle salt for two minutes on each side. I used a caste iron on low heat with coconut oil. As a FYI: I sometimes switch from coconut oil to tallow or ghee in this type of dish. theprimalnurse Yep. This is happening... I'm going down the liver path. I've been talking about it for a couple weeks, especially since I'm low on vitamin d and well, here I am... Prepping liver to at least start with liver pills. Some day I'll put my big girl panties on all the way and eat it straight up. But for now, were sticking to pills... desireekoh13 Third #breakfast in #Melaka last Sunday: Bak Kee (literally, pork meat soup), an amalgamation of #pork slices, pig's intestines, pig's liver and tau kwa (firm tofu) in a #braise #soup inked with star anise and cinnamon. It's like kway chap's florid cousin, and you must eat it with the house fluffy yam #rice and a lot of sliced red chillies. Kok Keong has been ladling #BakKee for more than 70 years, and the grandchildren of its founder now helm the cauldron.
