dataguy [The Little Man]
Children's coloring book in the members' lounge of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, featuring the mascot of the Western Exterminator Company.

Many Californians will recognize the top hat-and-sunglasses-attired man with a mallet behind his back as the mascot of Western, a pest control company founded in Los Angeles in 1921. Created in 1931 by Vaughn Kaufman, The Little Man (known for many years as Kernel Kleenup) is shown about to ambush Ronnie the Super Rat (perhaps "supper rat" would be more appropriate since he's wielding a fork and knife). The duo are featured on billboards, as huge fiberglass sculptures at Western's office locations, and even as characters in a 1990 Nintendo video game.

Western has been a long-time sponsor of NHM's annual Bug Fair, billed as North America's largest insect festival (who knew someone kept track of such a category?).
