mission4fit Well I've been out in the bush for a few weeks and there was no mirror big enough for me to take a progress pic. I still feel like the bump is easy to hide in clothes, but here we are 1 week to the halfway point already! Truthfully u haven't done much weightlifting the past two weeks...a tooth has been bugging me every time I tried to lift something heavy, so today I find out if it's just a filling or a root canal. I'm so happy to just get it taken care of so I can go back to lifting...kus I miss deadlifts and squats . I think I gained a bit of fat (sitting for 12 hours a day for 21 days straight will do that to you, no matter how good you eat). Not to mention the camp food was awful and I haven't had much of an appetite. familyfitfourfun OK, I peeked! Over a week ago, I vowed to eat "cleaner" and vowed to try carb cycling for the first time since having my last baby. I have not been using My Fitness Pal, but the suspense of knowing my macros and calories was killing me, so here it is! Today is a higher carb day, protein is almost at 50% and calories are 1214. bushramsalama Warning: Rant. Whatever I've been doing doesn't seem to be working for me. I'll have 1 or 2 good days and then 2-3 days of pure binge. I have suspected it's because of the "diet" mentality. I've tried to tackle this, but I'm finding that even tracking my food on MFP leads to obsessive thoughts. How many grams of this, how many calories in that. Should I eat this or that to hit this or that percentage. #MFP is awesome in general, but I'm going to take a break from tracking and logging and focus on the whole "#mindful eating" thing. To really listen to what I want to eat, keeping in mind a general awareness of protein intake. Typically, I have a very light (below 200 cals) breakfast so I can have a big dinner. But I find this does not stop me from eating even more after dinner. And also typically, I try to keep protein smoothies under 250 calories with minimal carbs and fat. So this is me trying something different. This is my breakfast protein smoothie: a cup of unsweetened almond milk, a whole banana, a whole cup of frozen mango, tons of spinach, a tbsp of flaxseed, a scoop of vanilla #grassfed whey AAAAAND a quarter of an avocado(!). And 4 ice cubes. It was huge, super thick and I had a hard time finishing it because it was so filling. It wasn't low calorie, but it was packed with nutrients. Anyway. Here's to experimentation, and finding what works for me personally. 44min

budding.lily Breakfast: Pumpkin protein pancakes with berry sauce
Total: 100 cal, 13g protein
I gotta tweak the recipe a bit these didn't come out exactly the way I wanted but I did make my protein muffins for the week days! Those came out even better once I changed the recipe a little! They are 100 cal and have 10g protein!

3/4c pineapple
1c raspberries
1/2c blueberries + pomegranate arils
5.3oz Vanilla Greek yogurt
3 Tbsp freeze dried strawberries

So yesterday I went to Pilates/yoga and today I did another treadmil workout. 45 mins worth of alternating between running/sprinting and uphill walking/jogging Going to start being strict with logging tomorrow so no more overeating (over ate Sunday/Monday &Tuesday night)

budding.lily Sunday mornings breakfast. I successfully stayed away from the gym for 7 days (besides alotted 1 hr Zumba on Friday) and I spent much of the weekend using my 'planning' behaviors to cope (which sucks because I shouldn't be planning such ridiculous exercise routines to make up for what I "missed") but I went to the gym today and I didn't do too bad.
2.5 mins walking/5 min running then running intervals to my music play list. Walking for 5 mins into a 10 min hill climb workout where I walked and ran on an incline. Total was 35 mins. Then I did a few sets raised lunges, squats, deep squats, lunge pulses just to keep the legs loose. My friend left before me so that was my signal to kinda bounce outta there.
