lifeofafes "There is no law governing all things."- Giordano Bruno. What Bruno described was the Renaissance in essence. Nothing is controllable, there is no laws to control nature, religion doesn't set any rules, this was an age during which men recognized that there was so much going on more than their self. That nothing was controllable, and now it was time to learn, instead of trying to constrict. 2y

andreahershh @kianamatisonn & @mumu656 "since there is nothing so well worth having friends, never loose a chance to make them" Francesco Guicciardini. Dont ever loose a chance to make friends, because there is not much worth more than them!! They are the siblings you never had and always wished for! #mcdsphilophoto 2y

andreahershh "the more sand has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it" Niccolo Machiavelli. Along with age come wisdom and experience. this metaphor in the quote explains just that. As life goes on, we become more intellectual and everything begins to make sense. Experience, at the end of the road, becomes priceless. #mcdsphilophoto 2y

andreahershh "choose the life that is most useable, and habit will make it the most agreeable" Francis Bacon. We have to be mindful with the life we choose. If you choose the lifestyle that is most useable for yourself and only yourself, you will in that you will be rewarded with an agreeable life as well. #mcdsphilophoto 2y

  •   gkramer95 I think the quote is saying that if you choose to live in a certain way, and make a habit of that lifestyle, than it can become the most favorable and agreeable for not only you, but other people as well. Whether that lifestyle is a positive or negative one, is up to you to decide 2y

lifeofafes "I can calculate the motion of heavenly bodies, but not the madness of people." Madness, a concept that from the Middle Ages to Renaissance completely changed. What defined madness? In the Middle Ages, anything that was self thought, anything not taught by God, was considered crazy, and punished as so. In The Renaissance, the complete opposite the boundaries were what seemed crazy now, why follow rules when the human mind is unstoppable. This is what Isaac Newton was talking about, the Uncontrollable power of pushing the limits is for Newton the madness. Madness because it's unpredictable. 2y

  •   lifeofafes As a well-spent day brings happy sleep, so a life well spent brings happy death." -Leonardo Da Vinci. The very essence of the Renaissance was the rebirth of the human mind. People were now stepping out of that constricted box that religion had made and realizing that there was so much more than just living a life for hoping to get a better one in the afterlife. I think that the very essence of this quote describes a lot of the Renaissance. Da Vinci, also known as the Renaissance man, with this quote described the new life of the Reinassance. 2y

lifeofafes "Pictures and shapes are but secondary objects and please or displease only in the memory. "-Francis Bacon during the middle ages, the main focus was God, and God only. People stopped looking for "The Good" people were not focus on their self beauty or anything they did, everything was focused to please God, to guarantee their salvation. Bacon philosophy was the philosophy of life of the time 2y

lifeofafes " For this fear of death is indeed the pretense of wisdom, and not real wisdom, being the appearance of knowing the unknown; since no one knows whether death, which they in their fear apprehend to be the greatest evil, may not be the greatest good."-Socrates Our perception of death is so grim so dark, but, even in death, nature reflects it's beauty. 2y

andreahershh "The unexamined life is not worth living"- Socrates. There is not much that I want in this world, but I do want to live a good life. It is not living the matters, but living rightly. So explore the world, and explore yourself, and this way you won't disappoint yourself. #mcdsphilophoto 2y

andreahershh "Happiness depends on ourselves"-Aristole. We begin to understand, at some point in our lives, that we sometimes have to depend on others for certain things, but we have to be independent when it comes to happiness. Unless what you think and believe is happiness is all just an illusion. #mcdsphilophoto 2y
