sashayogawellness hosting day 10 of the #30DayFearlessHeartChallenge | ditch the rules. do you ever feel like there are too many rules to follow, making you not want to follow any of them? especially in the yoga + wellness world, it seems like there are so many things we "can't" or "shouldn't" do. i'm not talking about the rules enforced by society to keep us safe [well, not all of them...], but even so, any strict RULE only exists because we trap ourselves in doubt, fear + negativity. rules are created to protect us, which can sometimes make us feel boxed in + wind up having the opposite affect. my conclusion: i think the only rule in life should be to be true + kind to yourself + others. let's all remind each other to ditch the "rules" we create for ourselves + follow our hearts. how much sweeter would life be if we let go + did what was intuitively best for ourselves, each other + the planet?

sashayogawellness day 9 of #30dayfearlessheartchallenge is let go | sundial pose is a challenge for me. after letting go of expectations i have been able to go further with more ease [so is life] + avoid straining my body. getting stuck serves no purpose, life flows onward regardless so go with that flow y'all.

sashayogawellness day 8 of #30dayfearlessheartchallenge is to eat what feels good to you | there's a recurring pattern that shows up for me surrounding what + how much i eat. it's totally pointless especially after studying my body closely + making nourishing choices, yet the habits are hard to shake. i want to spread the health beyond eating healthy food by being aware of what is best for our bodies + getting rid of the panic that surrounds making healthy choices. let's make it easeful + natural, who's with me? seen here: quinoa porridge w/ dates + homemade almond milk for me, egg sandwich for the lovely @_sappho_ from our dimes breakfast date.

sashayogawellness day 4 of #30DayFearlessHeartChallenge is to breathe for metabolism | i used to shovel food into my mouth + swallow without chewing enough until i did the @nutritionschool health coach training program. even though i was eating mostly healthy food, i didn't put down my utensil + breathe between bites. saliva is important for breaking down nutrients + breath awareness can be practiced at any moment - eating, dancing, sitting, typing... in yoga breath is referred to as prana, which doesn't mean "breath" but rather "life force." breath is responsible for our body's life + maintenance, constantly, in every moment. sashayogawellness day 3 of #30DayFearlessHeartChallenge is to embrace your body | tricky subject for me but important to address. i am still self-conscious of posting photos of myself in general, let alone a bikini. i work with recurring patterns daily to let go of judgement + fear around my weight + what i eat. practicing self-love will get us so much further as individuals + a community as opposed to criticism + perfectionism. spread the health + encourage each other to embrace our physical body in this lifetime - we all know it's what's on the inside that counts in the end anyway, right?

sashayogawellness so happy to host day 2 of #30dayfearlssheartchallenge | let your body move how it wants to move!
as a dancer i've always been in love with movement. when i hear music my body will groove on autopilot. i'm thankful for this form of expression because it allows what's on the inside to flow out of my limbs, to feel a oneness + connection to an intangible force. teaching yoga is another form of connecting to myself + others through moving. after studying proper alignment in my @yogaworks trainings i will often find my brain getting caught up in perfecting my postures + transitions, which can lead to missing the point of the practice by remaining stuck in thought patterns. i'd like to spread the health + offer a reminder for all of us to move how our body WANTS to move, every day, without being too rigid about how we're 'supposed' to move. put on some tunes + rock out or let loose on your mat - literally dance/flow like no one is watching [even if they are - who cares?].
