lilmeezy_baby It still blows my mind that a year ago, I was in the hospital laboring to have this beautiful boy. Though it took a while and he didn't show up until 8:56pm, it was still such an amazing experience. I remember Phillip and I were both so scared and so excited! We had no clue what we had in store for us! Preparing ourselves as best we could, we became parents to such an incredible baby boy. It hasn't always been the easiest with Atlas, but it's been worth it every single step of the way. From watching him grow a little more everyday, learn something new everyday and everything in between. It's been so wonderful. Watching his personality slowly unfold before our eyes, and realizing just how amazing it is to be a parent. From the bad nights to the good days, we have both truly blessed.
I'm so happy to be able to continue our breastfeeding relationship as well! It's been a good/tough year, but it's truly been so special every step of the way. I can't stress enough how glad I am to have been able to breastfeed this long. You have yet to have a cold or get sick, and you've only denied food about two times! From using me as a chew toy while you teeth, to all those late night cuddles, it's been a truly special experience.
You've changed our lives for the better, little guy, and daddy and I couldn't be more thankful to have you! So happy birthday little man; we love you with all of our heart.

My first try at breastfeeding Atlas. Such wonderful memories. It wasn't the easiest and we had to try again later with the lactation consultant. We also had over 4 LCs come to help me out throughout the night and day. We also figured out he was (and still is) tongue tied. But after almost a year, we're pros now! Not to mention we've had so much support from my amazing husband @phillipdawgg! He's always supported us, especially when we nurse in public! @birthwithoutfear @thefeedingmovement #birthwithoutfear #breastfeedingwithoutfear #thefeedingmovement

  •   lilmeezy_baby @cwawa91 Yes and no. He's not having problems nursing or "talking". But we won't find out till he's older if it's going to cause a problem with actually talking. 2mon
  •   drivingmissashleigh My brother has tongue tie, he's 10. They never fixed it and it hasn't really caused any issues :) playing it by ear is best (like I know you are ️) 2mon
  •   cwawa91 Well I love that even though he has that issue, which I've heard "already eliminates trying breastfeeding", you still tried and made it work! 2mon
  •   muscles_got_swagg Not to still your thunder @lilmeezy_baby but November 11th, 2014 I'm having my tonsils removed!!!! Such a great anniversary for you and probably a horrible one for me... :s 2mon
  •   muscles_got_swagg *steal 2mon
  •   missmamabliss Love this picture!! 2mon
  •   lilmeezy_baby @cwawa91 yeah some women just don't care to keep going cause it hurts them too much, or they just think it's going to be a hassle. But they're not very educated in the subject and some don't understand that it IS possible. That's why I like to share my story, so women will know it's okay, and there is hope and solutions! 2mon

lilmeezy_baby I got out baby pictures finally! November 11, 2013. Almost one year ago. Look at that cord. It's so beautiful. It was so short too. It was either delay cord clamping and no skin-to-skin right away, or vice versa. Needless to say, I chose skin-to-skin! Part of birth sometimes. @birthwithoutfear
I will be posting a placenta picture today or tomorrow, so don't freak out, people. Don't like it, just scroll past. Birth is a beautiful thing, every part of it. #birthwithoutfear

  •   apinzel_ Well my doctor induced me because Nuri started gaining about two pounds a week. My body was getting so weak and brittle, my hips started popping out of place, and my doctor scared me because she told me he could damage bones if he kicks too hard in the wrong spots. she seriously terrified me. I had a pretty easy going pregnancy the whole time because the fact I had like almost no iron in my blood (I've always been anemic) and I had the worst heartburn lol. But my last two months were HELL. My obgyn just really wanted to get him out to be safe. My labor/birthing process wasn't too bad either honestly. I got induced @ 1 am but didn't actually have HARD labor until three minutes after they started me on pitocin. Literally three minutes after they started my i.v. drip I was dying lmao. & after I had my epidural I was so relaxed and I hadn't slept in almost a complete 24 hrs so I was trying to sleep and I kept telling my mom over and over "I think every time I doze off I stop breathing" and my mom kept telling me to just fall asleep, I just feel that way because of the epidural. Then the nurse comes in and put an oxygen mask on me and said "every time you start to drift into sleep you stop breathing so just wear this it's no big deal" I just stared at my mom but the birthing process was actually pretty easy. I only pushed three times and Nuri shot out like a damn tshirt gun hahahah. I tore BAD though like..... Bad, but I heal so fast and I didn't even swell so I was good in like two weeks. 2mon
  •   apinzel_ I just gave you like my whole labor and delivery story 2mon
  •   apinzel_ I only had hard labor for 4 hrs too lol. 2mon
  •   lilmeezy_baby @apinzel_ that's okay! I don't mind! I love birth stories! That's crazy though. Thats good you didn't labor for too long not push forever. I was in labor for about 12 hours and I pushed for 45 min (I wasn't ready to push but I thought I was, so it took me so long). I only had three small tears and they were on the inside. Not the usual perineum tear. But Phillip and I had been doing perineal exercises so I wouldn't tear! I also didn't get to labor in peace. My father-in-law and mother-in-law slickly came into my labor room and stayed there. I hated it. I wasn't comfortable or able to concentrate. Definitely not doing that this time either. I'm not even telling them where my birth center is so they won't show up. They can come over after we go home that same day. 2mon
  •   lilmeezy_baby They weren't there when I pushed the baby put though. That I wasn't allowing loll 2mon
  •   apinzel_ Lol I understand that. I had my son's father and my father in the room. My poor dad was like covering his eyes I really wanted my sister in the room but she didn't get there fast enough and once the nurses set up their "sterile unit" no one can go in or out. So my dad was stuck in there and my sister was stuck outside bawling her eyes out but my son's dad invited his friend George up there and literally just chilled with his friend the whole night, I kicked them out of the room and sent them to the waiting room. It was so annoying. 2mon
  •   wanderingcaterpillar I didn't get to see my son right after he was born, I passed out but as soon as I came to he was in my arms 2mon

lilmeezy_baby A sleepy baby could care less if his face is squished. As long as the milk is flowing, sleep is ensuing. 3mon

lilmeezy_baby HAPPY 10 MONTHS, my little baby! As I reread that sentence, I STILL can't believe it. In just 2 months, you will have been earth side for a whole year! I don't think I will ever comprehend how fast time just zooms on by.
As you nurse while I write this, and I just look you, my whole body floods with love. I will never understand why you chose me to be your mom. But all I can say is how thankful I am that you did. You are truly the sweetest, happiest baby I have even known. You (almost) always have a smile on your face, and you're always looking for new things to explore and shove in your mouth. You've started handing me toys and you definitely know what "NO" means, though you don't always like to hear it. When you eat your snacks, you pinch them with your little "claws" and put them in your own mouth. If you want to nurse, you climb on top of me and tug on my shirt until I pull them out. You've become such a pro at breastfeeding, that sometimes I'll wake up and you'll already be eating. If milk is not easily available, you'll grab my face or give me kisses till I wake up! I'll always catch you having little conversations with yourself and it's so cute! I love it when you just lay and relax on me and it totally relaxes me in turn. We take still bedshare and I wouldn't have it any other way. We've also started co-showering together because it's just easier, and it's so sweet when you nurse in the shower. You're still not walking, but it's okay! We know you'll walk when you're ready! You're getting better at standing alone and your record so far has been 14 seconds (yes, we time him loll)! When daddy and I get argue sometimes, you hate it and you'll scream so we stop, and let me tell you, IT ALWAYS WORKS. And though you can be a frustrating baby sometimes, I can never stay mad at you. We love hearing you say "mama" and "dada" and we can't wait till the day you say "I love you"!
We love you soo so much, Atlas Michael. And I will continue to cherish the time, you and I spend together before you don't want to hang out with mommy anymore. I'm so excited to continue our breastfeeding journey as well, because it is so special to me. Daddy and I will love you forever!

lilmeezy_baby Playing with his big brother. This is one of those rare times where Titan lets Atlas climb all over him and pull his hair without running away, loll. 3mon
