  •   porterrawlinson I've read anti-mormon posts and the things you guys come up with is hurtful. I used to be in a HORRIBLE place before and the gospel has changed me for the better and I know that that change had to come from Heavenly Father. I never want to go back to what I used to be like. The church is true. I know it and I love it. @kimberlyhansensmith 2h
  •   haiden_mcdonald Warm fuzzy feelings...it's strange because my dad and grandma said that when they were in the Mormon church they would get that while preaching their testimonies. I forget exactly how my dad worded it but he said something along the lines of "I felt like a holy fire was burning inside of me while the Holy Ghost fed it's words through me...I don't ever know how I believed in that crap" 2h
  •   newbrunswick_railfan @porterrawlinson what WE come up with? This shit is as real as it gets man! None of this is made up! And @kimberlyhansensmith is right! We aren't stupid, we just actually took the time to investigate your church and figure out the lies 2h
  •   chase_the_1truth @porterrawlinson if you wish so badly that he would not make these posts, why not pray to have him stop? You do believe that if you pray to god with an honest and sincere heart and have complete faith, god will answer your prayers, right? Now is a chance to build your testimony. I couldn't help but notice where you said god has a plan for you and for him. This makes me question the perfection of god. If your god is perfect and all knowing, he could not have a plan that fails and he would have known before creating such a plan if said plan could and would be carried out. If you believe god has a plan for @mormonspeak you must believe that this is god's plan. If anybody acts outside of god's plan, the plan is flawed which would mean the planner is flawed. Another problem is the plan itself. If there is a specific plan that must be carried out, there is no room for free will. 1h
  •   porterrawlinson I am not here to argue anything with you @chase_the_1truth. We obviously have some major differences on what we believe and I hope we can both be mature enough to respect that. God is perfect and so is the plan He has for each of us. Our free agency comes in when we choose where we want to go with that plan. The plan can never be flawed because even when we stumble, it is still there. How else will we know repentance and faith and true happiness if we did everything according to perfection? It is not possible to be perfect, but through Christ and His sacrifice for all of us, we can strive achieve it. 32min
  •   thatgoober Well put @chase_the_1truth 32min
  •   nadinesomer @porterrawlinson I'm happy for you that church changed your life for the better. You said it changes lives? Yes, it does. Some positively and some negatively. Most of us on here have been there and done that. Why should a 16 year old confess to their bishop that they touched their little factory twice last week and then get reprimanded for it? That's not creepy to you? I guarantee you that confessing personal stuff like that to your bishop has screwed some people up. You wouldn't ever tell your parents that, why is the urge so strong to tell a bishop? I'm not trying to change your mind. Like I said, I'm happy the church changed your life in a good way. Follow those kinds of posts. People on here enjoy these posts because, for me, it just solidifies (not that I would ever go back) my choice to leave. These posts won't stop just like all the mormon cringe posts I see on my feed from my mormon friends won't stop. 25min
  •   mormonspeak The warm fuzzy feelings I got reading the Book of Mormon, I get similar, if not stronger feelings reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" or any of the Game of Throne books. It is a feeling of feeling greatly connected to the material and being inspired or touched by it. 11min

  •   mormonspeak @expatmatt Lets start a Chinese "A Team" and break out Jackie Chan's kid. 9h
  •   expatmatt Haha, i heard he got in trouble for some drug related something something... But is he full-on locked up?? 8h
  •   expatmatt Also, on a more serious note... Would you have rather been raised in an FLDS community, as a Muslim, in Scientology? Yes, Mormonism has the capacity to mess with people's minds and be emotionally abusive (and of course, wholly untrue)... But.... it could have been worse, right? (This is in response to your "Fucked over by Mormonism" tag line). 8h
  •   mrzjgamez What's wrong with growing up Muslim? @expatmatt 4h
  •   expatmatt Nothing... If you want to be Muslim. @mrzjgamez but if you don't want to be Muslim, then there is often a lot of emotional baggage involved in making a separation from it. And that's my point with the comment above. Both @mormonspeak and I are #exmormons and feel somewhat "fucked over by Mormonism", but I was just trying to say that, in my opinion, lots of people have it worse than us when trying to deal with life after leaving their respective religious traditions. I think people that grew up FLDS, Muslim, Amish, etc have more hurdles to jump in reaching a "normal life." (All of this is generally speaking, of course...) 3h
  •   s.n.clark 1h
  •   thegirlwhodyed @expatmatt That's your response, "It could have been worse"? That is such a cop-out. I'll remember to say that to the next abused child I meet. "Eh, you were sexually/physically/emotionally abused but other kids are sold into human trafficking for the rest of their lives so it could have been worse." #likewhattheactualfuck 40min
  •   thegirlwhodyed I @expatmatt I just find it to be really condescending to hear that my pain of growing up LDS "could have been worse". Everybody's worst pain is their worst pain. It's a tad demeaning to say that someone has it worse off. 38min

mormonspeak Mormon Incorporated. Actually, and this is true, all Mormon church owned businesses are owned by one corporation called : "CORPORATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS". 15h
  •   mormonspeak On November 26, 1923 a new corporation was formed by Heber J. Grant. His corporation is similar to a professional corporation wherein a doctor or a lawyer might incorporate himself. In this case, Heber J. Grant incorporated himself, calling the corporation by the name of: "CORPORATION OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS", and it was incorporated as a "Utah Corporation Sole", which is a special form of corporation similar to a professional corporation. 15h

Normal Fucked Over By Mormonism.
mormonspeak Does your religious leader open malls? I have never seen the Pope open a mall. The Mormon "Prophet" and other high ranking Mormon leaders say "Let's go Shopping" as these "religious leaders" cut the ribbon on a new billion dollar mall paid for by businesses owned by the Mormon church. 16h
  •   haiden_mcdonald They want to make sure that when Jesus comes again he can fine all his needs in one place and since a church made it, it's all good 14h
  •   haiden_mcdonald I wonder if they put a church in there to avoid taxes 14h
  •   mormonspeak I think the for profit business made the purchase so it would be paying taxes if Florida has taxes on land. That is a good tax question. Florida may not and that makes it a good investment. 14h
  •   stbench Name another religion that has a president? 2h
  •   s.n.clark Jesus is coming, and he looks pissed. 1h
  •   mormonspeak @stbench ha ha. Good point. President=chairman of the board. ;) 21min
  •   maycij Honesty who cares if he opens a mall.. Like honesty I feel like you can probably find better anti- Mormon pics to post 9min
  •   mormonspeak @maycij I think this one is pretty powerful in the sense that religious leaders in other religions never cut ribbons at the openings of for-profit businesses. Would Jesus be at a mall opening ribbon ceremony? 5min

mormonspeak Jesus and his disciples travel to Jerusalem for Passover, where he expels the money changers from the Temple, accusing them of turning the Temple into a den of thieves through their commercial activities. Hmmmmmmmmm....... Religion tied to commercial activities is possibly bad? What separates the Mormon church's billion dollar businesses from the "money changers" in the Bible? A religion that puts a large focus on making more $$$$$$ and Morminism today does NOT publish its financial records for members. 17h
  •   karinakarolann Hun just because you don't believe in somthing doesn't mean you should say terrible things about the people or the things we believe in. That goes with everything not just religion. I may not agree with what a Catholic believes in but but I don't speak against them. That's what is so precious about living in a free country. I can beileve what I want to and my neighbor has the same right. I understand you are hurt by somthing related to the Church but I hope you will one day find love enough in your heart to stop. May God bless you. 16h
  •   mormonspeak I guess you take it on faith that the money collected from members is not misspent. 16h
  •   mormonspeak @kariannalove life time Ex Mormon. ;) 16h
  •   mormonspeak I value truth to continue. 16h
  •   mormonspeak Embarrassing. I misspelled Mormonism. Ugh. Super tired today. 16h
  •   karinakarolann I love what I believe and I respect your opinions. Like I said I hope you find love enough to stop your hateful words and that's all I can say. I can't stop you or convince you otherwise I just hope you would move on and stop putting all of this waisted energy on somthing you hate. Rather put it on somthing you love 11h

mormonspeak The Mormon church through its subsidiaries now owns nearly 2 percent of Florida with the completion Thursday of a $562 million purchase of more than 382,000 acres in North Florida's Panhandle region.
The megapurchase of most of the timberland holdings of real-estate developer St. Joe Co. was announced in November. That property combined with Deseret Ranches in Central Florida leaves the Utah-based Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with 678,000 acres in Florida.

AgReserves Inc., a taxpaying company of the church, said when the deal was first made public that it will continue to use the North Florida land for timber and agriculture.
Deseret Ranches has more than 40,000 cattle and is one of the nation's largest producers of calves, and stands to become a key player in Central Florida's development patterns, water consumption and transportation corridors.
The closing of the land deal was announced by CBC Saunders Real Estate in Lakeland, which confirmed that terms remained the same as when first disclosed.

mormonspeak 2014 purchase. Representatives from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints announced Thursday they had bought most of the real estate owned by the St. Joe development company for $565 million. Municipalities in Bay, Calhoun, Franklin, Gadsden, Gulf, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty and Wakulla counties are included in the nearly 400,000 acres of land. The land, much of which is rich with timber, is located along the Florida panhandle.
The St. Joe Co. has owned the land for more than a dozen years and originally planned to profit from so-called master-planned communities in the region. That plan went sour when the real estate bubble bust, costing the company $330 million in 2011 alone.
The church already owns a large cattle ranch in the center of the state, according to the Associated Press, and much of this new land is not within current residential and commercial development zones. AgReserves Inc., an entity used by the church for taxpaying purposes, officially purchased the land. “AgReserves has demonstrated its commitment to wise land stewardship and prudent resource management during more than 60 years of ranching and agricultural operations in east-central Florida,” Paul Genho, chairman of the AgReserves board, told reporters Thursday. “We will apply that same commitment and expertise to managing the property we are acquiring in Florida’s Panhandle. We look to the long term in everything we do.”

  •   amandajeeaann Why in the world would they need all that land?? 16h
  •   mormonspeak @amandajeeaann It isn't so much about the land, it is about the cash reserve money. Where do you think the money came from to buy this land? A bank? A bank would probably not lend half a billion for assets that don't make any income. The Mormon church itself probably lent the money as a loan with an interest rate to the for profit business. That way they can claim no tithing money was used since all the tithing money plus interest will be paid back. The church possibly had large cash reserves so it needs big purchases like this or you know, use it to help non Mormon poor people. 16h
  •   haiden_mcdonald What do they even plan on doing with all this land? 15h
  •   mormonspeak @haiden_mcdonald dunno. It is all swamp and timber. My grandma lived around there in Bonifay. Just not much out there in the Florida panhandle. 15h
  •   haiden_mcdonald That's strange. You don't but land just because you can @mormonspeak 14h
  •   mormonspeak You do if you have tons of cash laying around. @haiden_mcdonald 14h
  •   haiden_mcdonald I will never understand rich people/corporation 14h

imafitmormon These are the ONLY pants that I've kept from my starting point. Sometimes I need a little pick me up and sometimes they're a good reminder of how far I've come.
Either way, because of style and size, I will NEVER allow them back in my wardrobe! I preach about the Word of Wisdom and I want you to know that by following its principles I was not only able to get my life back but I was blessed with greater knowledge and as I continue to follow its principles my eyes are opened to even greater knowledge. I feel closer to my Heavenly Father.

If you haven't REALLY considered following ALL the precepts in the Word of Wisdom I would highly recommend doing so. You will be blessed! It's not my promise, but the Lord's. I love sharing with everyone here! I appreciate your comments and support of this page. Please share with your friends if you feel like they need extra encouragement!! #imafitmormon #mormons #lds #latterdaysaints #ldschurch #fitmormon #wordofwisdom #happy #healthy #balance #wisdom #love #Christ #God

mormonnetwork Elder Jeffrey R. Holland from the Quorum of the Twelve quoted this in his Facebook Official account; This week I had missionary and member meetings in Santos, Brazil. At lunch time we walked in a park and visited with the people. Gospel conversations are very natural if we are genuinely interested in the lives of those we meet. The young boy with the dog challenged me to ride his skateboard and the two elderly women—a mother and daughter—thought we were nice men. I surely hope so. #mormonnetwork 1d
