avulsionflow Look where I was just now! Proxy Falls in the Willamette National Forest, near Sisters, Oregon! This was taken with my Galaxy Note2 phone. My Canon camera shots I'll be posting soon! This one of the most amazing experiences I've had exploring Oregon! I highly recommend to visit here if you love waterfalls! Keep Exploring everyone! 3mon

avulsionflow The Nisqually Glacier carved out this valley in the Mount Rainier National Park in Washington State, and leaving behind a massive moraine in its wake! That is the Nisqually River meandering through the rock debris and sediment. This glacier is one of the largest on Mt. Rainer. Where I took this picture I would have been standing on the glacier when the first measurements of the glacier were done over 100 years ago. As you can see the glacier has retreated way back towards the summit and is the source waters for the river. The mountain is usually visible from this viewpoint, but the fog was too dense in the earlier morning hours over this past weekend. Better luck next time! Keep Exploring! Gear & Settings: Canon EOS Rebel SL1, Lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Filter - None, Mode - Manual, Length - 17mm, Aperture - 9, LE - 0.50sec., ISO - 400.

avulsionflow Standing in the middle of the Forest looking up to the Heavens! I took this near the Portland Japanese Garden back in the Springtime. Sometimes I like to expand my horizon in any direction I can. This abstract shot was supposed to be another idea, but instead of standing between the trees just put the camera right next to the trunk. I was pleasantly surprised with the perspective! If you don't take chances in life you may miss out on a great adventure or two! Keep Exploring! Gear & Settings: Canon EOS Rebel SL1, Lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Filter - None, Mode - Manual, Length - 17mm, Aperture - 5.6, LE - 1/100, ISO - 3200.

avulsionflow Thor's Well along the Oregon Coast at Cape Perpetua! This is one of several amazing natural landscapes on the cape! If you are ever going down Highway 101 south of Newport it's incredible place to stop to enjoy the waves crashing on the outcrops creating spectacular displays, especially during the Winter and Spring seasons! This was taken last Winter on a mini vacation on the coast. Keep Exploring! Gear & Settings: Canon EOS Rebel SL1, Lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Filter - Hoya Multi-Coated 0.8 ND, Mode - Manual, Length - 17mm, Aperture - 22, LE - 1/4, ISO - 100.

avulsionflow A lightly flowing Latourell Falls! I made a quick pit stop on my way to Larch Mountain last Sunday evening for sunset and the super moon! Latourell Falls is located on the Historic Columbia River Highway a couple of miles east of Crown Point. During the rainy season I've been here with the water flowing so fiercely that the spray was hurricane like circular movement in the Columnar Basalt Amphitheater surrounding the falls! Keep Exploring! Gear & Settings: Canon EOS Rebel SL1, Lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Filter - Hoya Multi-Coated 0.8 ND, Mode - Manual, Length - 17mm, Aperture - 11, LE - 1/4, ISO - 800.

avulsionflow During golden hour the marvelous Columbia River Gorge looking east from Crown Point on Historic Columbia River Highway about 25 miles east of Portland, Oregon! In the distance the haze in the sky is from forest fires and last evening the sunset turned pink then a really dark red from the ash in the sky from the fires in the Coastal Range Mountains towards the coast. To cap off the evening I got some photos of the Super Moon, too! Sorry I haven't been around much lately there is so much happening from family tragedies to changes happening in my life. I hope to be able to get out hiking more soon, but the next month is going to be busy. I'll be posting more from last evening! Keep Exploring! Gear & Settings: Canon EOS Rebel SL1, Lens: EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, Filter - Hoya Multi-Coated 0.8 ND, Mode - Manual, Length - 17mm, Aperture - 5.6 LE - 1/30, ISO - 400.
