mynameismarcusklotz I made a trip to the Palouse this weekend. On my way out of the falls park, I noticed something on the side of the road next to a nearby farm. I pulled over with my camera drawn and boom! Yellow eyes popped out like headlights I noticed it's wing was twisted as if it side swiped a passing vehicle. I quickly wrapped him up and began my journey to the closest town. Once I finally had cell service I located the closest animal rescue(100 miles away) which were closed. I stopped and frantically looked up every and all places to take him in Washington and began dialing. I kid you not, the only place I found and was able to reach was located just up the street from my house, almost 200 miles away! Wow. I stopped by a ranger station, who was no help and seemed startled by the owl. She gave me a box and I set him in as to not damage his wing any further. What a long drive back. He was chill as ever though, just staring at me(kind of creepy actually). I played classical music the entire 2 and a half hour drive to the 'local' wildlife rescue. They took him in and gave x-rays and then to my surprise asked if I'd help release him when he recovers!! Stoked for the little guy😀 By the way I named him Rupert 1h

discoverdiaries The incredible thing about sacrifice is the knowing. It's knowing you will have less so others can have more. It's a purposeful decision to look past what would be easiest for one's self and choosing what will benefit those around you. It's going beyond the "somebody has to do it" mentality and saying "somebody has to do it, and let that somebody be me." To the families who have watched their loved ones make the ultimate sacrifice, I wanted to let you know that I see you. And although I can't pretend to fully grasp the pain of an empty seat at the table where they should be, I can tell you this: I understand. I understand that the word "sacrifice" that we can throw around so easily at times, goes deeper than we fully know. Because sacrifice isn't just noble and brave. It's love in its rawest form.#HappyMemorialDay #MemorialDay #MemorialDayWeekend #sacrifice #neverforget #neverforgotten #military #america #landofthefree #homeofthebrave #usa #flag #thankyou #grateful #brave #freedom #courage #love #northwest #king5 #seattle #igers_seattle #northwestisbest #upperleftusa #pnw #washington #socality #socalityseattle 4h

discoverdiaries I love this man for so many reasons, but today its because he was the first person I met in my life where I didn't feel the need to filter myself. While the world told me to settle and calm down, he looked me in the eye, smiled and said "No baby girl, stay wild." 8h
