carcounsel Fitter, happier, more productive,
Comfortable,
Not drinking too much,
Regular exercise at the gym
(Three days a week),
Getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries,
At ease,
Eating well
(No more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
A patient better driver,
A safer car
(Baby smiling in back seat),
Sleeping well
(No bad dreams),
No paranoia,
Careful to all animals
(Never washing spiders down the plughole),
Keep in contact with old friends
(Enjoy a drink now and then),
Will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall)
Favors for favors,
Fond but not in love,
Charity standing orders,
On Sundays ring road supermarket
(No killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants),
Car wash
(Also on Sundays),
No longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows
Nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
Nothing so childish, at a better pace,
Slower and more calculated,
No chance of escape,
Now self-employed,
Concerned (but powerless),
An empowered and informed member of society
(Pragmatism not idealism),
Will not cry in public,
Less chance of illness,
Tires that grip in the wet
(Shot of baby strapped in back seat),
A good memory,
Still cries at a good film,
Still kisses with saliva,
No longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick,
That's driven into frozen winter shit
(The ability to laugh at weakness),
Calm,
Fitter,
Healthier and more productive
A pig in a cage on antibiotics

  •   carcounsel @highmileage Where we differ: I never saw the Fit as a *car* as much as I did a throwaway *appliance* - to get you through a certain life stage. That it's now a *car* too is why I applaud it - despite its chassis and controls lacking the vim of yore. 2h
  •   autonomuss P.S. That recirc slider is badass. 2h
  •   carcounsel @highmileage I don't think it is, although I can see why you might leap there logically. Perhaps it's a stride toward the acceptance of small cars. That we both should celebrate sans resistance. It's still a brilliant chassis, it's just one designed for roads outside Tokyo and SoCal now. To be honest I left the infotainment off; that's too subjective for me to evaluate for others. 2h
  •   geo94metro @carcounsel anytime !! @highmileage the Fiesta stands out as one of the most well sorted fwd sub compact vehicle since the swift gt and se-r. I find myself leaning towards a st model. However this will be several years down the road for me. This all being said I would never purchase a fit unless it were a "too good to be true " deal . Simply because of the way they are so appliance like and the general lack of focus on anything besides legendary reliability . It has to be more than a Honda. 10min
  •   withmu The fact that there is a mechanical lever to choose fresh air bugs me. I enjoyed the simplicity of knowing I was turning knobs and pulling levers that connected to cables and flaps back when I owned a sparkling new fit in 2008. It was bliss in simplicity and confidence it would always work. ...But the more you think about how simple a button press could control fresh air, the more you realize it's an appliance, no matter easily your apple product works with the radio. Nothing else matters. Can I get to work? Can I drive somewhat buzzed? Can my grandma figure out how to make the lights work 5min
