  •   crestiecabana Do you sell these guys? And/or ship to US? 2d
  •   drawmelikeyourfrenchlizards @crestiecabana Hey Bennett! I have the lucky job of just taking care of all of these animals, I don't sell anything myself, but the company I work for sells only to wholesalers within Canada, so my apologies but nope 2d
  •   crestiecabana Dawwwww what a shame, I picked one up from someone last weekend who didn't even know the locality of it so needless to say they didn't take the care of him and didn't last 24 hours with me so now I have all these harvester ants with nothing to eat them and cant find anyone letting them go in the US such a tragedy 2d
  •   drawmelikeyourfrenchlizards @crestiecabana they're tricky that's for sure! We had very little success in keeping them until we introduced a false anthill feeder...(wish I knew the proper name for it) a plastic lab instrument that has a long shaft and a square opening at the top that we bury partially in the sand and fill with formic-dusted crickets, so they trickle out and imitate an anthill. We've also used a sand-filled deli cup with a couple small holes poked in the lid and buried in the sand with success as well. Because they're so speciality most chain pet stores wouldn't carry them I wouldn't think, but independents would have better luck getting ahold of them, but then you might have to sacrifice health like the last poor lil guy you picked up :( 2d
  •   crestiecabana Oh I know they're tricky but mainly since there are 15 different subspecies and some dont eat harvesters most people just lump them all together the formic acid nor the ants where the problem for me the fact that people just use them as a quick buck is! Ive read so many success stories but then again they could've been new Mexico horned or Utah which you'll never know if they dont but thanks anyways for the info maybe my next go around will be from someone who knows what they're talking about 2d
  •   drawmelikeyourfrenchlizards @crestiecabana hopefully! I wish you the best of luck! I'm don't profess to be an expert in herpetology or on species but I'm always willing to learn, and especially research specific requirements before the animals start to do poorly, and especially if they are already on a downswing. It's great to know you are such a knowledgable resource in this area! 2d
  •   crestiecabana Thank you! Im no expert either but I do make sure to do as much research as I possibly can its just hard to tell if some are doing poorly as they cant tell you but yes its good to know someone up north knows what they're talking about to good luck with these guys 2d

scarred_z_head A horny toad on the rock and a sleek black frog in the middle of our small pond. I didn't go outside for a better pic because they jump in the pond immediately.
