Tonight I packaged 10 more nut butter-based sandwiches for the freezer tonight. This has been such a huge deal for us. Less gluten scattered through the kitchen for me (#celiacaintforsissies). Super speedy packing for kids' lunches. This, plus our healthy snack bin in the fridge & healthy snack drawer next to the pantry gives kiddos easy access to good, filling, nutritious food. 6yo was bummed when she discovered the last batch of 6 sandwiches were gone from the freezer (hence the frenzy tonight!) when she decided to make herself dinner!

For the future: gotta see how sunflower seed butter withstands the freezer and whatnot, but I'm now trying to think up other combos that work for grab-n-go freezer sandwiches.

brisbanemumma Proud parenting moment when child requests a chocolate milkshake for lunch!! @rawsqueeze at Everton Park offered us both the perfect solution. Our 'milkshake' of choice was the vegan Choco-Bananarama Smoothie - frozen banana, cacao, dates, maca & almond milk. An absolute hit!!! 🏼🏼🏼 Next time I'd probably ask for it without the cacao nibs on top (if sharing with E) as most of the 'crunchy bits' ended up in my hand! There are some great little nooks to sit & enjoy the healthy fare & also a kids' corner complete with free fruit, colouring in, blackboard & kids' picnic table!

breez_kitchen My youngest daughter is in charge of making our salads for dinner this week.
Tonight's salad was a huge hit. So much so that we told her she should have made twice as much . She chose to put in some organic arugula and cherry tomatoes from the farmers market, cucumber and jumbo green olives stuffed with jalapeño and garlic.
Not only did we all love the flavour combination but the size she cut everything too.
I'm looking forward to see what she makes tomorrow
