efexploreamerica @tddwight2 takes us into the center of the #GranaryBurialGround. The 25-foot tall obelisk you see commemorates the tomb of Benjamin Franklin’s parents! #Boston #FreedomTrail 4d

kimblesinbits We enjoyed our time in Boston last weekend, exploring the city and suburbs. This is Granary Burial Ground, the third oldest burying ground in Boston and the final resting place of Samuel Adams, John Hancock, Paul Revere, and victims of the Boston Massacre. An interesting fact about this place is that there are approximately 5000 people buried here, but only 2300 headstones. Many families would share one headstone and one grave, due to the high cost of funerals. 1mon
