jnaka006 Drove up GMR last night to catch a glimpse of the Orionid meteor shower. Threw a mattress and some blankets in the back of my truck and stared up at the night sky hoping to see shooting stars. It's a little hard to see but there's a meteor in the upper left of the photo (the streak near the bottom right is an airplane). I've seen many meteor showers but this is my first time capturing one on camera!

This picture is looking south over the 626 area. The glow of the city was dampened by the fog that rolled in after midnight. The bright star in the upper center is Sirius, one of the brightest stars visable in the northern hemisphere. Above that, a little out of frame, is Orion the Hunter the radiant of the Orionid meteor shower.
