djshorty79 It may not look like much but that little blurry dot is Saturn! Looking through the telescope it is actually quite sharp but trying to take a pic with iPhone on zoom was a pain in the arse! I need a bigger lens and a proper camera!

mocalosangeles After more than 30 years at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, Alma Ruiz is retiring.
Her work and curatorial vision has been a constant at MOCA with such defining exhibitions as Jacob Hashimoto: #GasGiant (2014); Suprasensorial: Experiments in Light, Color, and Space (2010); Poetics of the Handmade (2007); #GabrielOrozco (2000); The Experimental Exercise of Freedom: #LygiaClark, Gego, Mathias Goeritz, Hélio Oiticica, and Mira Schendel (1999); among many others.
Alma's commitment to Latin American artists positioned MOCA as an early leader in both collecting and exhibiting artists from the region and has made an indelible and important mark on our history. She will continue working on a Magdalena Fernández exhibition that opens at our Pacific Design Center location early next fall.
We are grateful for all of her contributions and hard work over the years and wish Alma the very best as she writes her next chapter and embarks on new projects. Many thanks Alma! [Photo by @myles_standish]

thelucashargis Such a simple pic. Hardly looks like anything at all. This is a shot of #Jupiter I took last night.
1,321 Earths could fit inside Jupiter.
Because of its elliptical orbit, the distance from here to there varies between 365 million & 601 million miles. At its closest point, traveling at 100 mph nonstop, it would take 416 years to drive to Jupiter.

We are so small.

hacknt0sh A single exposure of our #GasGiant. #Jupiter. Taken last night. Mounted my #Canon70D to my 4.5 #dobsonian. There's not much detail I can get out of this small scope. |f1/4|ISO100|5xBarlow #astrophotography #nightsky #cosmos #stargazer 2w

krismortensen Spent the evening gazing out into the vacuum of space from our little bubble.
It was finally warm enough to take the telescope out and invited my roommate to join. Wish we had more to look at here in NYC. I'm already looking forward to a few road trips out to dark skies to finally get the full potential from my scope.
This is Jupiter and two of his moons. You can just barely make out the rings in the cellphone photo, but believe me, they were clear as day in the eyepiece. Such a beautiful sight to see.
